Price Drop again....$250 shipped
-
See photos for condition. Only 3 weeks old so very little use. 33" Super Stroke Mid Slim black/white grip 66 degree lie angle-the guy who adjusted it for me said it was so soft and easy to bend, so buyer would have no trouble adjusting it to a more conventional lie angle.

As stated in the title Ping G15 4 wood 17 degrees in like new condition. It has hit 5-10 balls. -TFC149 stock shaft: Regular flex -1/2" in length -Ping ID8 grip: teal color code PM for any questions. Asking $110 shipped.

To be honest I don't understand Edel's "aiming" thing. From what I've heard is that they believe a lot of golfers mis aim their putts, which is true. I probably don't aim exactly where I think I'm aiming, but my main goal is to feel comfortable in my alignment and get the ball rolling on the line I want, which I'm able to do for the most part. I think if someone said I was always aiming 6 inches to the right or left and I tried to fix it, it would really mess with my head....although, if I could afford it I would probably have to try it....

I'm currently using a Cleveland Launcher DST which is a solid driver but my buddy who is justs starting needs one so I'm giving him a deal and then I get to get a new one.....What I'm trying to decide is if it's worth it to go all out and get something like a Titleist 910 or if I want to look at an older stock model like a Mizuno MP 630. I say the Mizuno because I have the MP Ti fairways and they are some of the best I've ever hit and they can be had at a really good price. I've hit them both and I like them both but it's hard to tell in a demo like setting. I'm usually pretty confident in my driver no matter which one I'm holding so I'm not sure if a big upgrade to the 910 would make much difference?

Bought my first Vokey Wedge today

I got rid of my vokey's because of the damage they did to the ball. Mizuno MPT11 is much kinder on balls. Haven't scuffed one yet with a wedge.... -
Are expensive clubs just hype?

Snake Eyes... -
I'll recommend the G15 3 or 4 wood. I have the 4 wood and it's a monster, stupid easy to hit. Longer off the tee than my old Callaway BB 3 wood and WAY easier to hit off the deck. I have the stock Ping shaft and it launches it pretty high but it works for me, others would probably benefit from a different shaft.

My swing is always evolving, but one thing that has been pretty constant over the past 3 or 4 years is that I open the clubface more than one would want upon takeaway and continuing as the swing goes back. However, I'm hesitant to look at changing that since my ball striking keeps getting stronger and my stock shot continues to be a slight draw. Any advice?

Can a 2 iron have non-conforming grooves?

I'm in the same boat, but I went with Discount Dan's so I got a great deal. I got 4-PW and 2 MPT-11 wedges for less than $900, retails at over $1000. I love that place....

Why do I see a post like this every week? Isn't it obvious? -
Anyone have Piretti putter?
ajschn06 replied to deronsizemore's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I don't have one but I've heard nothing but good things. They have a lower loft as you mentioned, but they also have heavier and I believe slightly larger heads as well. I think they weigh anywhere from 350-370 grams. I just got a Ping Redwood that I love at the beginning of the season so I won't be looking in the near future. However, if I have to come up with some gift ideas in the next year or two I may think about one of these, I really like the heavier heads in putters. -
If these things didn't have those stupid weights in them, I'm all over them and quite possibly a full Taylor Made convert. Aside from the RAC TP MB irons, these are easily the best looking line of irons TM has ever produced but they had to go and screw it up. I've never been a fan of the interchangeable weights or adjustability in clubs. Taylor Made was sooo close with these......rant over...

The wait is going to be brutal! They are shipping out next Thursday and I'm getting married next weekend, so I have plenty of other stuff on my mind, but very excited none the less. I've been through 4 iron sets in the past year and a half trying to replace my old XPC 3000's from high school with no success. The 53's were my 2nd choice on my 3rd try, but I went with the 710 CB's. Luckily on two of the occasions I've been able to make a profit on the sets so I'm stitting about even as is so that takes away some of the sting from the long search. Anyways, I tried the Nike Slingshot with their speed step lite shaft(R), Snake Eyes 685X with Dynalite Gold SL(S), 710 CB with Dynamic Gold SL(R), and Ping I3 plus with the CS lites(R). The Dynalite's were closest to what I want and closest to what I'm used to playing with, so I was looking for something closer to that end of the spectrum. I went with the GS-95's on the 53's, regular flex, hard-stepped once......I'll probably end up grabbing some MPT-11 wedges as well with the same specs...

I've made my decision on new clubs- Mizuno MP-53. The "combo set" of sorts is what attracted me to them, pocket cavity in 4-7 and more of a compact feel in the 8-PW. My problem is, I won't have the funds for the entire set, 4-PW, til late next month. I'm a range rat, I go there more than I actually play. In an effort to curb my anticipation, as well as ease the transition to new clubs, I thought about ordering up 2 clubs(probably a 6 and an 8 iron) right now that I can work with off and on at the range and swing around the house to get a feel for them. And then next month when I can afford it I will order up the rest of them. Can anyone see a disadvantage to doing this?

Just curious, how is the 58/08 off of tight lies and really hard ground?
-
If I want a wedge(58) that I can open up the face on, should I look for a higher bounce(12) or a lower bounce(8).
-
I'm 5"7 as well and my wrist to floor is a shade over 33". My old driver was a Callaway 454 and I had that sucker cut down to almost 42.5".......I liked it but it really lacked distance...I feel like the DST at 44.25" is just about right......
-
I bought a used Cleveland Launcher DST a few months ago that was already -0.5"(45.25"). I had been hitting it pretty good but it still felt a little long for me. I could hit it straight but couldn't really power into one when I wanted to. I cut another inch off of it and WOW. What a difference it made. My trajectory improved(went from a low flat trajectory to a ball that started low and penetrating and steadily rose...I gained about 15-20 yards of carry) and I feel like I can shape the ball much easier. I've always been able to hit a pretty good draw with most of my clubs except the driver....I felt like I had to try extra hard to get around on it....just wanted to share my thoughts. I always had a lot of confidence hitting a driver but now I feel like it can really be a weapon.
