  1. To the OP: get over yourself. It's made by Nike Golf, you can find it in any golf store...
  2. Sounds like a fun group....good luck next weekend!
  3. If the Twins are playing while I'm on the golf course, I HAVE to have a radio on....that being said, it's quiet enough so that I can't hear it while I'm hitting, so I can't imagine it would bother anyone else...

    SNOW!?!?!

I'm in southern MN. My local course opened monday and I got 9 in, but rained all day tuesday and snowed today.....blah...
  5. Has anyone tried any of the new Cleveland drivers(TL, SL, or XL)? I'm really intrigued by them, it may be my next target.
  6. I can't understand why some golfers change irons, or any clubs, so often. It takes me about a full season to get used to a new set of irons....
  7. I think you misread what he said. I understood that he was saying something similar to what you said... Quote: Originally Posted by jamo So I'm guessing you haven't tried one? 8. When it comes to irons, I don't think technology is what's going to cause a change........It depends on how much you play, how they are made(forged or cast), and what they are made of(some are softer than others and wear faster). So when looking at your irons, don't think about how old they are, look at how the grooves are looking. I found a sweet mint set of Ping I3+ irons that were pretty much unused, the technology in them aren't much different than that of the g10's or g15's. At least not that different that a 5-10 handicapper could notice....
  9. Wowwww....all I can say is, if this happened to me I'm glad I've got a solid weapon in my hands....I'm glad it didn't, I probably would've murdered him if he talked to my wife like that....
  10. There is a park about a mile from my house where I can hit any of my irons with no problems. If I wanted to I could probably pull out my 5 wood and hit it if I want....I have enough distance to even hit a driver, but the park is only about 80 yards wide with houses lining the left side so I choose not too. I always wondered about the "legality" of it, but a copper pulled into the parking lot while I was hitting the other day which worried me, especially when he got out of his car and came towards me. Turns out he was a golf fan too and we had a quick chat about the upcoming season and how he was also looking forward to the local courses opening.....didn't even mention the houses on the left side of the park. He must've noticed how sweet my swing was and didn't think it would be an issue
  11. I walk about 85% of the time, but I don't see a problem with riding once in a while. I'm 25, I would feel pathetic if I walked all the time. I usually only play 9 holes at a time so when I go 18 I usually take a cart(for the sake of time). I don't have all day and courses around here usually aren't too crowded, so taking a cart allows me to squeeze in a full 18 after work on occasion....
  12. I saw the advertisement on this website and just had to comment......"Srixon...Official ball of 2010 US Open Champion Graham McDowell..." It makes me laugh....sure it's his ball, but what they don't tell you is, he wasn't using it when he won the US open! Obviously on this site it doesn't matter because most of us are knowledgable on the subject, but looking the big picture, this is the type of advertising that really irks me...
  13. I think golfers worry too much about how far they "should" be hitting their irons. I have no problem pulling out a 7 iron from 145-150. Sure, if I want to I can hit it 165...but 145 right where I'm aiming 95% of the time is better than 165 with questionable accuracy....I've simply learned to work more on my short game more to battle the situations where I end up 180-190 yards from the green off the tee.....
  14. This could have made for a fun day! I would have kept shooting towards them(obviously waiting til they were out of my range) since his idea of "out of range" is a little bit different. It would have been fun seeing just how pissed off he would get.....
  15. I put a normal round grip on my putter a few months ago. I always have had the same problem that you mentioned when trying to regrip a putter, I could never get it aligned quite right. My stroke feels pretty good with it on my putting mat at home, but I've yet to get on a real green with it...
  16. Your much better off selling them on Ebay. I bet you could easily get double what the trade in value would be....
  17. I've been having problems...typically I hit the ball with a nice little draw or straight. After a winter off, I went to the heated range the other day. A lot of shots ended up shooting straight off to the right, and everything else was a push slice. I couldn't seem to hit anything lower than a 9 iron straight, and have been feeling like I can't get through the ball if that makes any sense....
  18. That's pretty sick......One of the classiest looking putters I've seen if they just have the "scotty cameron" on the bottom and get rid of that "California Sonoma" crap....
  19. You may want to check around at some local golf shops or pro shops. I know a few places that I go to will re-grip clubs for free if your buying the grips from them....
  20. Every Jordan shoe!? That's insane, I don't even want to know how many...Things like that make me not feel as bad about spending so much money on golf clubs....I have a handful of friends that buy 4-5 pairs of shoe's every year....
  21. I agree....just looking around you can get a full set of Taylor Made or Callaway clubs(New clubs, but older models) for less than 800. I know you can find iron sets for 300-400, drivers for 150, FW's for 100 and putters for 80-100.
  22. It wasn't something Haney said directly. Another follower posed the question, he actually said when should you move from GI irons to a forged club and Haney said never, stick with GI. I assumed he was by forged he meant more of a players club....
  23. Why all the Haney hate? I guarantee you he would improve your game....
  24. I don't know if anyone else here follows Hank Haney on twitter(if not you should, some great info and tips) but I found this tidbit interesting. Someone asked him the other day when amatuers should make the switch from GI irons to a players irons. Hank's response, "Never, stick with GI". I know there are plenty of folks who knowingly play clubs beyond their abilities, but I thought it was interesting to hear this from one of the great teachers out there.....
  25. ......or in her....
