  1. I coach a golf pro. I use brain science to support what I do. and according to "the pharoha" I am one of p57 aliases, and no I am not. External focus to target. (not on what the body does) meaning applying that to common golf instruction you will learn about 3 times faster than normal. Its also how you can enter the zone. I used that to teach people skills, re-tooled a golf pro swing in 3 weeks doing that not 2 years. Its all in your head anyway arguably however depending on the focus point the difference is massive. Is it vague? Sure but having swing thoughts as you learn or as you swing is slowing down your swing, it makes your accuracy worse and your game will suffer. Focus on target combined with proper tempo for your own body type, allows a new motion to be discovered and aligned without you need to understand how to move your hips or such. What is used is to incorperate one motion at a time until it starts to show up and happens. There is a difference between your own feel and perception of what your doing which video wont help with. The instruction has to be vague enough for the individual to explore their own motion and specific enough so they can wait for it to happen without concerning them with swing thoughts or such while learning a new swing or tweaking a motion. That allows skill enhancement in days or weeks which normally would take months or even years. The good thing is for the individual once they do it that way " swing to target " as they learn the new motion, they will discover how their body moves when doing it after a time. Much easier to learn golf that way IMO. This is what they did in the old days before filming, video become common, watching ballflight and impact to adjust their practice from. If you got questions about this I am happy to answer them to my ability. I used the above approach "focus on target" for a golf pro shown below. Spain last year mars 2011 Golf pro. reason for re-tooling swing, back issues. 2012 11mars a few days after shifting. 2012 26 mars 3 weeks later

  3. I assume you dont understand the advice then as its likely the best one out there. Any other sport works like that, if you dont get that I would suggest you get a grip in how the brain does things in learning things and why most here and in other forums are lost in swingcrack. It works with the golf Pro I coach, it works with a 36 handicap golfer so I assume what I do works when they swing to target.
  4. each iron can be adjusted up to 4 clubs. can you make the shot that is required with the distance is a better question.
  5. welcome to golf. that is why many times people who asks for advice seldom know the difference between real and percived.. though to give advice due to feel isnt seen.
  6. Sweden tee Hole 14 over water and ravine, 13 green behind barn. Bjurholmsgk
  7. if you consistently hit good shots, go with it. to much swing thoughts often makes it worse. yes, it might be your weightshift, release or such wasnt done enough. ballimpact and ballflight are my criteria.
  8. Hanson is my favorite.
  9. what Jack did and what he felt is often not the same. Its easy to understand he didnt want a lateral shift due to how his swing motion was done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mU8CHBZY19k
  10. did run my sisters kid on a cruel course, he lost 20pounds in 14 days. Lot of ravines and up and downs there. He had some weight to loose but nothing beats walking at a good pace and some good eating habits and searching for a golf ball.
  11. Swing to target anything else is silly. or if one want to be stuck with the swing instead of playing great golf go ahead with details and the process.
  12. a Pro distracted by shadows in a major and one footer? LOL got to be kidding me. she choked BIG time. she can make a 1000 of those in a row in practice.
  13. LPGA girls good but severely lacking competition and short game could use more skills at average.
  14. There is a lot of lets call it bad instructions out there and instructors in golf. You can get a pro to increase distance with 50 yards on driver, you can get them to ace putts, and you got to do a load of clean ups from older bad teachers. You need to build variation of shots which takes time and to build reference potential to then be creative with the shots. Golf is an easy sport simple even. However a lot of people assume you need some specific talent for the game, when you actually need good training, practice and instructions. I have had to deal with such due to the golfer who wants to get good will get good in spite of the instructions and golf teachers due to those being so bad. I guess you need talent to be good teaching golf and boy that is surely lacking. Can anyone reach 120mph in a golf swing, yea they can. That is 10mph over the average in the PGA tour. Putting and the short game requiries practice and technique. Once consistency and speed is then shaping shot takes place and most just need a stock shot. Then you need the proper mental attitude to handle shooting low consistently, and that you can train to have. I take a look at a junior golfer, check his teachers, and how they instruct him, and ask, why dont you do it this way instead? You become a lot better if you do it this way which btw is measureable directly. The guy I coach learns the amature to hit the ball 50 yards longer, 2 days later they come back hitting it short again due to them started to listen to their trainer again. So we end up, that once people try to say you need talent to get good I often go lets remove the bad instructions first, then the bad teachers then do this and this and get really good. 3 weeks later their game is taking off into a whole different ballgame. Suddenly their talented. So the Dan plan is a good idea, however we can ask, did he have the best coaches getting him there and the best plan? That makes a load of difference.
  15. People looking at me are just jealous of my swing. or my ass never can tell
  16. allan doyle did beat Tiger with 17 shot once which Tiger couldnt understand at the time. Allan went to play on the senior PGA tour and won 2 us open there. http://www.sunnehanna.com/Champions/Past%20Champs/1992.aspx I guess Talent isnt enough sometimes ;)
  17. My local pro played with two sisters back in 1992 or so, they used the same tee he thought it strange, at the forth tee he asked what did you say your name was again? He played with Anikka sorenstam and her sister. Middle of fairway, long and greens in regulation. The difference of skill is higher with LPGA than PGA no doubt, but the best girls are good. 30-100 place in PGA difference is one shot a round. much bigger difference in LPGA.
  18. How about faster? You guys know the swings used on the tour isnt made for speed right? Golf dont have much physical limitations. its a walk and someone carry your bags. Most of the time your waiting for someone else. Most of the time your talking to people. I find the game simply a lazy game but that is why you could drink a lot in the evenings and have fun. The requirements are not that high for golf. Talent is way overrated for Golf pros.
  19. Talent is a word people use when they dont know. People also tend to apply this in how they themself would be able to do it which then of course is a no due to limitation. Working hard alone dont cut it. You need a good plan, a superb success algoritm to improve consistently at every practice measureable. You need time and deep deliberate practice to build enough variation that alone takes around 2 years. You need a fitness level and focused work for a long time with ambition and dedication. Dan has that even though he now shows strains 2 years down the road due to overloading his system with the time involved with the practice. His face says it all and yea I read people pretty good. back to coaching the golf pro.
  20. He be dominaTING again. He will struggle with the swing on and off but one or two off shots wont matter in 4 rounds. His ironplay under pressure is unmatched. Be fun watching the masters to see if he scares Rory.
  21. Natural talent if its a physical thing it has nothing to do with golf. Working to achive a task is a learned Talent, and worth more than any natural born talent people can come up with. You still need a a good plan and great feedback and perfect technique. All grown and learnable. Dan can make it, but going with that plan currently its making it way harder than it needs to be IMO.
  22. You need time and more time for practice. Talent is a grown ability and you dont get good by watching TV, reading a magazine and thinking about it. Short high intensity practice with proper management as shown in Russia where basically every russian top 10 on the tennis tour comes from one school the same place in Russia. In golf on the LPGA tour the southkorean influence is big. Most would never think about going scratch, or going tour, due to either they dont have the talent or the resources or some other excuse. Dan can succeed.
