Im looking for some help on how to soften my grip. I have a very strong grip and I do it subconsiously. I start with a soft grip while addressing the ball, but as I begin my backswing and follow thru I death grip it. I can feel it at the end of my swing, but by then its too late. Are there any drills or anything I can do to get rid of this bad habit? Thanks!

Im due for some new grips, and looking at everything out there Im kinda confused as to what I SHOULD buy. Im thinking I should probably buy midsize grips because I wear a ML glove & have a strong grip, but from everything ive read and been told Im right on the cusp of standard and midsize. So I guess im not sure if I should buy standard or midsize. Second, Im not sure what kind of style of grips I need. I dont like super soft, and I dont like super tacky/sticky, but I do want something a little nuetral. Any suggestions? These are for my irons by the way…

Shoot me some offers guys, dont be shy… Im willing to trade for a Titleist 909D2.

Hahaha, DWAI is for: Dont Worry About It… I put DWAI in there because too many people on here are concerned with handicap numbers. And by putting that there it bugs the crap out of the handicap warriors on the site. hahaha

I can fill in the title & description section, but I cant do anything else. When I press the submit button I get nothing. I cant actually post or "submit" a thread.

Yeah, ive been looking at it online, it looks pretty nice. Its a semi private course I guess. And the tournament Im in is an SCGA qualifier so its invite only, which make sense on a course like this. Im supposed to play a practice round sometime next week, so we'll see.

Taylormade Penta TP?
SVTGolfer replied to clonewars222's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
The Penta is superior to the Bridgestone e6. The Penta will spin quite a bit more than the Bridgestone. If you'd like to compare a similar ball to the Bridgestone "e" series try the Srixon tri-speed TOUR. I believe those are on special right now too, at least local to me they are. 2 for $40 something I think… Pentas are on sale buy 2 dozen get 1 dozen free. So are the Srixon Z-Stars… Seriously, I think almost every mid to high handicapper gets "fitted" for the e6, or so it seems… e5,e6,e7... -
I absolutely LOVE the yellow ball!!! I started playing them at the end of last year. Honestly, I do play some other white balls when they go on special, but I ALWAYS play the yellow Srixon ball in tournaments now. Ever since I lost a ball off the 1st tee in a tournament "In plain sight" just a few feet off the fairway into mid length rough, I started playing it just for the meer fact that you can't lose one as easily. It definitely helps that I love the Srixon Z-StarX too. But the Srixon Tri-speed TOUR comes in "tour yellow" as well, and that's how I originally started playing it before I moved up to the spinnier Zstar ball. Only time ive ever found that it is hard to see the ball is at dusk or like erock said when the leaves change color and theres more natural yellow on the course. Otherwise the ball is pretty flawless.

Why can't I post anything in the marketplace? Ive posted in there in the past. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

I just don't want to play a ProV1
SVTGolfer replied to rustyredcab's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I wonder if you can order them with "No logos"??? That would be kinda cool… Just play a completely blank ball. Only you would know what you're playing. -
Nike Method 005 & 35" in length. This thing is just solid! Feels great off the face. And it does exactly what the technology claims. Instant forward roll. No skipping. My backup is a 35" Scotty Cameron Kombi S… I may be the only guy on here with a Scotty as a "back-up" Hahaha

Yeah, that Aldila RIP shaft is something else, isnt it!? Ive got it in my Ping G15 as well. The Adams really cuts down on spin, so it definitely works for me & what I need in a driver. Im even thinking about cutting it down an inch. As for the 9064LS, I finally took it to my home course on Wednesday. This is significant only because I know about how far I normally drive the ball. This new Adams club... HOLY SHNIKE's!!!! this thing is long!! I wasn't "driving" the ball particularly good on Wednesday and with my 9064 I was seeing on average a 20 yard difference! I was going driver wedge on some holes where I never do that! One in particular was a Par 4 where I normally go driver 8 iron, but this time I went driver 52* wedge! Its insane!!! And I love it!!

I hate Golfsmith!!! Cancel Cancel Cancel!!!!!! And buying a pre-owned wedge over the internet is pretty sketchy isnt it? I would be super nervous about that decision, especially without seeing it first.

Have you played the Srixon Z-star??? I have. I like it… -
your opinion of 3-piece golf balls
SVTGolfer replied to ajgunn82's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
Srixon tri-speed TOUR!!! It was the best 3 piece ball for me and my game. Ive since switched to a tour caliber "spin" ball, but if im having a bad couple rounds I will still pull a tri-speed tour out and play it to cut down on my spin and gain some distance and control. The tri-speed tour gives you tour quality performance at a fair price with distance, durability and spin. It doesn't spin as much as the Srixon Z-star, but it is close. I thought it was much much better than the NXT TOUR also. -
I need a longer ball
SVTGolfer replied to lugonza_2001's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I would STRONGLY recommend the Srixon tri-speed TOUR ball. Not the regular tri-speed, but the tri-speed TOUR. Its a great ball. For the money it gives you a lot of options. Spin, control, distance, & durability. I used to play this ball religiously until my game improved and I wanted a ball that would spin more around the greens, and then I started playing the Z-star & Penta. The Srixon tri-speed tour is a three piece ball. Its surprisingly spinny for the price. And ive tried the NXT TOUR ball, but in my opinion it cant compete with Srixon. At least not for what I wanted out of my golf ball. Distance, durability and greenside control…. buy a sleeve and you'll see! -
A second Club Championship would be nice!
