  1. Why, this is my favorite thread!
  2. Great Story, thanks for sharing it!
  3. Except the pros are not playing a stock head.... The R11 they are playing is a 415cc head not the monster they sell on the shelves of Dick's
  4. Wow...one of your best rounds in a while is 75?????? I thought you said you could hit a ball, my 12 year old little brother can shoot 75! Your endorsement of equipment is like buying an automobile because it gets groceries well for an old women! Tiger and Freddie might have played Eye2's...but then they grew up and started playing real players clubs...Tiger can play what ever he wants, and he chooses Miura for a reason!
  5. I think its funny that he thinks a 3 handicap is a "good" golfer. His best score is a 68...and he's a three time club champion??? That wouldn't even win the A flight, in a "real" golf club. Good luck in the Junior division. No wonder you like Eye2's, your a hack. I tell where you are really missing the boat...the Gutta-Percha Ball!!! The click it makes when it flies of my Mashie is amazing, and its 185 yards of carry makes me the 4 time Greater Luxembourg Water Buffalo lodge Champion. I mean just the other day, I was hitting some Gutta’s (that’s what us people in the know call them) and everyone was stopping to watch me hit. In fact a celebrity, Captain Cave Man, stopped and asked if I could play with him on the Hanna-Barbera tour and he would caddy. We had to cut our conversation short, because the combination of the pure Gutta ball striking clinic I had just put on and chest hair was more than the ladies of the local ladies day golf outing could stand and caused a bit of a riot. Well I'm off to break the course record at the TPC Gotham City and maybe cure cancer and solve world hunger at the turn.....Chow Hacks!
  6. Putter - Get a PING Anser 2. It is the most classic most copied model ever. It is a good one to learn with, I still have mine at home. plus they are so plentaful, you can find them for $40 bucks.
  7. Keep your current irons, use the $800 you would use on the AP1's on lessons. once you have a much better swing, then purchase a set of irons. They will be vastly different than what you need now at your currentl level. thats how I would move forward.
  8. I like the new drivers for the adjustability, but the real advances have been in shaft technology. Spend the money on a new fitted shaft. I went from a 907 to the 910 only because I could have several shafts and swap them out when I wanted to. Look at the R9 with a good shaft..there are some excellent buys out there.
  9. First off, I know this poster is just having fun at the expense of the other posters. He is just throwing this out there and watching us eat it up. 2nd, the Eye2's are great clubs, in fact a classic! I still have a BeCu set from high school and my kids can flight the pine cones they beat around in the back yard with them. 3rd, I will take my AP2's, or the set of Dunlop classics of the Wal-Mart shelf and show you it is more about the indian than the arrows.
  10. I like Feherty! I enjoy his golf broadcasts; I don’t look for him to be that “informative”. He let’s you know what club the guys hitting, and I can see the rest. I hate Johnny Miller, he is a pompous A$$. I love how he tells you the put is going to break about eight inches…or “most guys have been leaving it short.” He doesn’t have a clue, he is being feed the results of the putt or the stats through his ear piece and is passing it off like he has done hours of on the course work.
  11. He was a sponsor's excemption. The event exempts several of the UGA golf teams players every year. Russell Henley, Hudson Swafford and Harris English have all received exemptions The NCAA is very testy about receiving compsensation of ANY kind as a result of your athletic skill in the sport in which you compete. In fact I think they many of them forgo the courtesy cars to make sure the NCAA leaves them alone.
  12. I’m sorry, but this is absolutely ridiculous!!! There are phenomenal chasms between your average +handicappers and Nationwide or PGA caliber players. First off most + handicappers are 1 or 2 handicaps in reality, because they rarely strictly adhering to the rules… I play several times a year with a current PGA tour player and on my “real” golf course with all its imperfections and no galleries or fore caddies or cameras (73.9 / 129 Par 72 7383yds) he shot 61 I shot 69. I don’t care what you think you see on TV or you have “seen” at your local tour stop, you have no idea how good these guys are. The consistent repeatable swing and distance control, controlled ball flighting, spin control...etc To answer the OP question… A few weeks ago I shot a 47 on the front nine of a tournament. I was not clearing and blocking it dead right. This particular course was tight with tight out-of-bounds. Making the turn I was able to correct my issue and shot 30 on the back. That was by far the worst round in a long while. I can’t remember the last time I told someone my handicap, especially the stranger I am paired with. POSER all the way
  13. I really enjoyed the show. I love to listen to older folks tell stories, and Lee Trevino was SPOT ON!!! I have always liked Feherty's banter, he just throws it out there. I will watch, because some of his guests look intresting. I have always thought highly of the golf coach that can take your natural swing, and tweak it to fit your golf. I loved Trevino's anology for swing coaches talking about retooling a whole swing to fix one thing. "...if you have a leaky roof, you dont tear down the whole house, you just fix the the leaky roof..." I also thought it was pretty bold to say that if Tiger can not fix his collapsing knee, that he is DONE.....bold statement!
  14. Its on the "extended" service that you have to pay additional $$$ for. I think they call it the "The Best of Sirius/XM"
  15. well, I want the 4 hours back from having to watch a Michigan Football game last year...so well call it even!
  16. I think it funny that some of us are taking this serious! We need to loosen up a little
  17. " I was merely pointing out that some lesser known players have had an opportunity to come to the forefront due to Tiger's absence. I could have used Stricker, Kuchar, Casey, or Mark Wilson just as easy. I simply used them because they are the hot topic players." Why are European's so sensitive and defensive? I think Donald is a wonderful talent, but he would not have been #1, no would have Kaymer or Westwood. I am not "anti-European", I love the global talent influx. The Austral-Asian tours, South-African, and South American players are great for the game.
  18. I play the D3 with the RIP X-FLex, and it is a Missle Launcher. The RIP has given me a little lower ball flight, although I went from 8.5, to a D1 7.25 loft which makes a difference too!
  19. you can pick up a UST shaft for about $70-80 and it will be an excellent aftermarket shaft.
  20. I beg to differ! For the average golf fan, American or European, most had no clue who McDowell or Kaymer was. Most of the individuals on this forum are not your average golf fans, so I would expect them to know these guys. I knew who Luke Donald was because I played college golf against him, and was present at Hazeltine in '99 when he won...even then he was a bit of a unknown the favored golfers were Matt Kuchar, Bryce Molder, David Gossett, Jonathan Byrd or Lucas Glover. I am also familiar with McDowell as early as 2001 when he won the Haskin's award and helped win the Walker cup that year in my home state. Kaymer was very unknown until 2008, with his first European win, but still virtually unknown on a global stage. As much as I am a "stupid American" the European tour was very much the lesser tour and the global public didn't give it much attention, with Tiger on the PGA.
  21. Obviously you are Anti-American..... See how stupid that sounds! I was merely pointing out that some lesser known players have had an opportunity to come to the forefront due to Tiger's absence. I could have used Stricker, Kuchar, Casey, or Mark Wilson just as easy. I simply used them because they are the hot topic players. It’s like the European fans have a self confidence issue or a Napoleonic complex; they think that everyone is trying to attack the "European". The European tour is a good golf tour too! Its ok...no one is picking on the European born players, I mean 8 of the top 20 are European born and 5 of those are actual products of European tour. It’s ok, you are not the little brother!
  22. I played both of those clubs until last year. I played both in a X flex shaft. Both were fantasic clubs and performed well. the reason I switched was to take advantage of some of the newer technologies of the 910 series and create a slightly lower ball flight with some new shafts. I second the reshafting theTM clubs. In my opinion the TM shafts are garbage. My buddy loves his superfast after having it reshafted.
  23. I think its interesting that two of the most talented golfers ever, Ernie and Phil, both overshadowed by Tiger. I believe Phil and Ernie were more physically talented, however Tiger WAS the most mentally dominate athlete ever. Both of these guys psyche was beaten like a drum on numerous occasions by Tiger. Now Tiger seems to be Psychologist’s dream and all these others are coming back to the top. I think if Tiger was his old self, we probably would not know who Martin Kaymer, or Graeme McDowell was and Luke Donald’s claim would be that he won the 1999 individual NCAA championship.
  24. I think it’s fantastic. I think it was funny that they called out the critics on air, saying their will be the people that say “this is what is wrong with golf today…” sure enough. I think the “the thing I hate about golf” folks need to get over themselves. It’s just a joke; does that mean they shouldn’t have fun doing it? Some of us on hear have golf games that are a joke, does that mean they quite? There are always going to be the detractors no matter what you do, they use to criticize Tiger for taking himself too seriously…so what do you do? I think it shows you a lot about these guys, they are enjoying the opportunities that their talent is affording them. They are not taking themselves seriously, and they did this for fun and charity. I think it’s great! Keep it up.
  25. A "WOW" guy on the Nationwide tour is Pablo Martin or Bubba Dickerson... Bubba Dickerson is the 2001 US Amatuer, 2001 Western Amatuer and 2nd at the Pub Links...pretty WOW to me? Pablo Martin was one of the best Collegiate players in many years. He was the Haskins Award winner in 2006...a few past Haskins award winners are Bill Haas, Hunter Mahan, Graeme McDowell, Luke Donald, Matt Kuchar, Stewart Cink, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. Guy is a stud! Anyone familiar with college golf can see alot of familiar names on the roster. Its a developmental tour, some guys need some time to adjust to the tour life. Their game is there, they just have to learn how to manage the game and the lifestyle with the travel, etc.
