I would take the guy thats got a great short game most of the time. however I will say this, when I have a blow up hole (double bogey or worse) my tee shot is what gets me in trouble.

Yeah cars aren't exactly made the same way golf balls. Are there is no governing body that require specs. And I would think it would be safe to say that there is probably a little more money spent on R&D; of vehicles than there is on golf balls. Cars and golf balls is not a fair comparison. A better comparison for athletic equipment and performance standards might be golf balls and baseball bats. Being a former college baseball player (the bat don't matter).

Play about 3-4 times a week but usually one of those rounds is bouncing around from hole to hole and just getting in as many holes as i can and usually dont keep score just a practice round per say. (hit two or three shots from a trouble spot and two or three chips or putts) Probably two bags of balls a week and couple 45 minute putting sessions depending on the week...Handicap has gone down from a 12 to an 8.8 in three months since i started playing a lot....a better career allowed me to do this...

hahah...wow that is intense and I am definately not a Chemistry guy and never will be, but I think we just turned this forum into a mini chem lesson. Just goes to show you I apparently have no clue what I'm talking about and should therefore should post on this forum....(I still will)

Yes the ball does travel farther when it is humid. Think of it this way; When the air has all the water molecules in the air the molecules make the air heavier and this makes this harder for the ball to fall. Its almost as if the water molecules hold the ball up in the air. Temperature has very little to do with distance as well. It is mostly the moisture in the air. People do think that in colder weather they don't hit is far which is true probably for two reasons; The first is for the one above; the second is typically the body is not as warm or as loose as it would be in warmer weather so you often times have a restricted swing....just my two cents...

Haven't ever seen it done but had a buddy do it with syringe (injector) and it turned ok... -
When I first started playing the game it was just to figure it out and be able to play it for real, as oppsed to drink at an outing and be somewhat competitve. I'm also the type of person that likes to be the best in everything so a lower handicap and lower scores make it more enjoyable for me. Now when I say the best I would say for my class (which would be never playing college or even high school golf and never taking a lesson) completely self taught (im proud of that) I don't really like playing against true golfers. Would rather play against ex-football players and ex-baseball players or really anyone that golf wasn't THEIR sport. Same way as a golfer wouldn't want to strap on pads against me.

Just wondered what everyone else plays in the Jacksonville or just some favorites or thoughts on bad courses....

Sounds like your getting hosed to me. Your handicapped should be established and shouldn't fluctuate that much, depending on how many rounds your handicap is based off of. Then again your playing in Fort Wayne, we Indiana people only know how to play basketball, so it shouldn't really matter anyway....

Or could be your wife who you thought was a guidance counselor but little do you know she has been tigers slave for the last 5 years......

I dont interlock when i put and my right hand thumb goes straight down the shaft as opposed to being over the front of the grip if that makes any sense.

There is a lot to be said about taking three quarter swings with different and getting creative with your wedges. I only carry three wedges (48 (pw) 54 and 60) and becuase of this I have to definately get creative with my shots and play some knockdowns and lay the club back at times. You dont always have to take full swings to hit great shots...

I rarely use my driver anymore and I shot a 73 about three weeks ago with only using it 3 times (the three long par 5's). Keeping the white ball in play and giving yourself opportunities to hit greens is the name of the game. Oh yeah, there is also that thing called putting too....but lets not get hung up on details....

I would probably say Freddie Couples and another young gun, like Anthony Kim, Dustin Johnson, or Rickie Fowler.

Most of the people that work on grounds crews are uneducated and dont have any formal training other than working on the job or at a previous golf course. Depending on the course there is really only two people (sometimes one) that have the education it takes to manage a supurb golf club. Those being the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendant. So no, I would say that 10-14 is a great wage. Throw free golf into the equation and where do I sign up....

This is a huge step. Being an athlete my whole life and particular in baseball as a hitter once you play long enough you start to feel when you have a bad swings and learn what your doing wrong, and if your really good you can fix your own problems becuase you have a great feel for what you did. If you can learn how fix things in your golf swing on your own you will be well on your way to lowering that handicap. (I haven't quite gotten there yet but am still learning quite a bit) good luck and keep swinging!

I think the most I have played with a ball is two full rounds, which is an accomplishment for me because being a former baseball player I got that slice that shows up now and again. I think those two rounds were with a noodle and it held up really well if I remember right....

Your right i don't watch a whole lot NBA ball, but i do watch a lot of basketball and other sports. Maybe it is just a case of the refs being so inconsistent it takes the fun out of the game. I don't think it makes for good TV.....thats all I am saying....
