  1. Wow, I never noticed the deals they have on balls. I never buy Nike balls because of the cost, but for $9 a dozen I'm almost forced to buy them.
  2. There's a few no golfing signs posted, sadly. Haha, that's awesome. The bad things about my backyard are that 1) it's not level anywhere and 2) it's littered with dog crap, so I'm afraid I'll either step in it or hit balls into it.
  3. I own the Nike SQ 5000 and have hit the SQ 460 and the SQ Dymo, and I love them all. I can't see myself ever getting a non-Nike driver.
  4. Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you could recommend alternative ways to practice besides the driving range or the course. The reason I'm asking is because my local driving range sucks. They have grass tees but never open them, and I hate hitting off the mats. The stupid rubber tees make it literally impossible for me to hit my driver. I shank or top every single shot off of the damn things, yet I hit the club fine when I'm at the course swinging the same way. Any suggestions?

Uruguay is a real sleeper to win the whole thing now IMO, they're playing awesome.
  6. I've gotten lucky with all of my clubs: all brand new SQ 5000 driver: $100 Slingshot HL irons 6-PW with 3,4,5 hybrid: $269 Nike IC series putter: $50 Nike Slingshot cart bag: $70
  7. I have anger/impatience issues, so if I can't hit any shots right I'll either take a hole or two off (if I'm with friends) or leave entirely (if I'm playing alone).
  8. My local course is pretty similar, but just changed ownership and looks a crap ton better than what it did. Still has some issues though with the greens and tee boxes, but the rest is great.
  9. That I know I do...was a tip I got for helping with the weight shift.
  10. True, I just figured they would catch something that obvious. I had no idea. Not sure when I'll be able to hit the course again (I hate our local driving range, can't hit off rubber tees), but hopefully this tip helps.

    Gotta love modern medicine.
  12. I have a feeling Kansas ans KSU are going to get screwed big time.
  13. Sigh...I thought this was finally gonna be our year, but we still got further than anyone outside of Philly thought. It's gonna be interesting to see what happens next year, because we have some major cap issues.
  14. It's a variety of both, but a majority of them are topped and/or barely leave the ground. I've only been golfing for a year so those shots are to be expected, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating. I'm not sure if this causes all of my short irons to go the same distance, or that's another thing I need to fix/adjust. Holy crap, small world haha. I've been doing alright, looks like the Millers haven't been though I'll have to try that drill out. It's weird, my two uncles have been golfing for probably 12-15 years each and neither picked up on this flaw. They did help me out with a bunch of other stuff like my grip and most of my swing, but not this part.
  15. That's the thing...the first day I took them to the range, I was hitting better than I ever had. My shots were getting proper height and distance. I hit a PW over 100 yards for the first time in my life (I'm not a huge dude which is why I can't hit as far as I'd like) that day, but ever since, meh. I'll try to stand more upright, maybe that's a big contributor as to why I can't hit them.
  16. So here's the deal. Bought a set of the Slingshot HL's a few weeks ago after reading a ton of good reviews about them. Easy to hit/get up in the air, etc. I take them out on the range the first time and hit them better than I've hit any iron in my life. Got height and distance out of them. No complaints. Then I begin to unravel. 2nd time at the range a week later, all the irons had the same trajectory when I did hit them normal and the rest were all topped or fat shots. I figured maybe if I took them out on the course, I'd revert back to how I did the first time. Dead wrong, same thing happened, and I couldn't help but get frustrated. I took them out again today and got the same crappy results. Granted it was raining pretty hard and I couldn't get a decent grip on the club, but I was still discouraged. At first, I was worried that because I left my clubs in the backseat of my car in 80-90 degree weather, the heat ruined the clubs. That didn't happen, right? Being a complete amateur, I have no idea how to correct it as I can't afford a lesson right now. Here are two practice swings I took with my 7 iron in the backyard: I know it's kinda crappy quality, but maybe someone can find something wrong. For a club that was supposedly game improvement and easy to hit and hit high, I can't do it worth anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    World Cup

IMO he really hasn't been given a fair shake at Spurs, but I do agree that he isn't quite strong enough to handle the rigors of the EPL. If he has a good World Cup I can see his value going off the charts.
  18. I think that went out the window when Jake Delhomme was signed as our QB...I'd rather them just give Colt the job from Day 1.
  19. I played 9 holes in the pouring rain this morning and shot horribly...remind me to never play in the rain again. I stopped keeping score after 5 holes, but I'm sure I was in the 50's or 60's.

    World Cup

So excited for this...I don't care who's playing, I'm going to try and watch every single match. I'll be rooting for the U.S. obviously, Ivory Coast (because of Drogba), and Netherlands (because I like orange). As for a breakout candidate that will garner a huge transfer fee this summer, look for Mexico's Giovani Dos Santos.
