This thread got me to wondering something. Back in my softball days, people used to bake the balls to make them "hotter" would that work with a golf ball?

You have to be mentaly tough also. There is a guy where i play that can shoot under par every round, but the second he plays for money he will shoot somewhere between 5 and 10 over, he just can't deal with the pressure

There is a local fund raiser tournament that my buddies play in every year that has some funny challenges. On one hole they give you a putter, and you throw it as far as you can, and that is where you hit your first shot from. There is a balcony over looking the 18th green, and they cook ribs, and after you finish you throw your bone on the green for the golfers to putt around. Another hole you Happy Gilmore hit it, and wherever it lands that is where you play your first shot. Some of you will probably be floored by this, but let me say that it is all in fun it raises money for the family of a guy that was fun, outgoing, and never met a stranger. He helped a random person change a tire on the side of the road, and was hit by a car an killed. It is just one of those tournament where scores don't matter it, it's not serious everyone just has fun. Do any of you guys have tournaments like that in your area?

I was refering to Purdue,Northwestern, and indiana being like ole miss, vandy, and kentucky Do you really think that you are bothering me?? I love to argue about college football, but in the end it is just a matter of opinion (and you know what they say about opinions) So if it makes you feel superior to think that you "showed me" then you go ahead and have your little 5 minutes of internet fame I'm proud of you =) I hope that helps you sleep at night

I was comparing the sec to the big 10. Alabama or florida or lsu has a better chance of losing to a south carolina or a georgia or tennessee than ohio state has to lose to purdue, nothwestern, or indiana

First off i never came on here in a hissy, and second i was saying in the past 12 years the sec has won it 6 times, I'm sorry if you can't comprehend that. And i don't even understand how you are making a point on your prediction of the sec. This debate could go on until we are both blue in the face, we will talk in January. All i am saying is I don't give a damn where Urban Meyer is from, that means nothing to me, and you want to talk about convicts, what about Maurice Clarette the biggest waste of talent to ever come out of osu. I just wish you would play some sec teams, and don't give me that crap about the sec being scared to come up there and play

I never said Florida was an elite team, they are my team and thats who i pull for. all i am saying is quit talking about how great osu is when you don't play anybody. Come to the SEC and you will lose at least 4 games. Just the past 12 years SEC nat. championships 6 big 10 nat championships 1. Florida strength of schedule 18 OSU strength of schedule 61.

I am interested to hear the responses, because i have the same problem. I hit my 8 iron 150 and on a real windy day it is a 7 or depending on how hard its blowing maybe a 6

Thanks, used to be a pretty straight hitter with irons, but this year, i have aquired this draw that i have never had, and i guess i get tired, cause it usually shows its head after about 14 or 15 holes (and it might be because it is hot here and i am walking) But its weird to watch golf on t.v. and when the camera is behind them it looks like they start it 50yds right and bring it back in, is that just an illusion?

Just wondering, i played the other day, and on the final 4 holes a was hitting a draw that I would start about 40yds to the right and it would come back. However, i went to the range yesterday and was hitting about a 15 yd draw. Don't know if i was just tired that day or what

I played played Malibu Beach GC in LA and was playing behind James Worthy, it took me 18 holes to get up the nerve to ask him for his autograph. Earlier that day, I was in the rough looking for my ball and Scott Stapp (the lead singer for CREED) walked by me looking for his ball, and said "whats up?"

I have started hitting a draw with my irons, and my question is how far do you play the ball to the right to hit your draw, if you have one. And how far is too far to where it is a hook
