  1. Jack Vs. Tiger Lets Compare Driving Ability Even Best In Their Era Long Iron Play Even Ditto Short Iron Play Tiger Scrambling Tiger By A Mile Mental Toughness Even Marketability Tiger By A Mile Putting Jack Very Slightly The Winner Tiger Via Scrambling
  2. anyone can hit it long most courses are generous enough to keep it in play, BUT the perfect short game makes anyone better immediately. hands down!!
  3. in 2008 it will be my 41st year of playing, and it would be great to get my first hole in one. winning a major jackpot in vegas after the hole in one would complete my day!!!! getting real for a second, i just want to continue to have fun, and if time allows, try to work on my chipping around the greens from 40 yards and in. if i wasn't a great putter, than my handicap would be 5 shots higher. so>>>> hit more greens, and the handicap will take care of itself. i bought a 73 degree soft feel wedge over this winter, and maybe it will work, or end up in my garage. who knows??? happy new year everyone!!
  4. i've had a lot of great fun playingg golf, but i have to go back to my first round of golf on memorial day in 1967. my older brother and i shared a starter set of "voit chargers" we thought they were great at the time. anyway, on the 5th hole, a par 3 144 yards over a pond i hit a 3 wood to about 2 feet, and made a birdie 2 i couldn't believe it. it is like winning the daily double the first time at the race track. i was hooked!!!! 2 years later, i quit organized baseball, and played golf all summer long 36-54 holes a day, walking with my buddies. 40 years later, i still vividly remember that 5th hole of my life. golf truely is a game for life, and truely a game of great friendships, and memories. thank God we remember the good shots, long after the lousy ones we hit.
  5. just bought the calloway ft-1 dirver .. my swing speed is still about 110 average up to 118, and the funny thing is that i hit the regular flex driver on the launch monitor better than the stiff. the fitting pro said the new shafts can handle higher swing speeds, without going way off line. i ended up getting the regular shaft for the first time in my life, and i'm glad, because i think i may hit a few more fairways with it. at the price of new equipment, i hope i'm right. time will tell, i'll let ya know. now... if only it would quit snowing outside....
  6. just watched my beloved buckeyes pull it out over xavier they better play better if they are gonna make it to the championship game. wouldn't greg oden look good in a cavs uniform, playing alonside lebron??? no chance in hell, but a nice dream though
  7. my calloway bertha 13 wood with the uniflex steel shaft has been great for me. i only use a 7 iron through my wedges. anything less, i have 5 woods in my bag, including a 9wood, and my 13 wood, which has saved me valuable strokes from 165 to 190 yards in.
  8. if i could chip better,{mental midget around the greens}, i'd be about a 6 or 7 handicap on my course. i very rarely get in any big trouble, just missing the green, like most amateurs. i plan on working on this more seriously this year, but if it happens great!! all of us could lower their scores from around the greens anyway!!
  9. calloway ft-i driver calloway fairway woods ping i-3 irons ping anser putter
  10. bucekyes 31 florida 17 another national championship for the buckeyes
  11. hrvey penicks little red book is great in the book he gives great advice to anyone who wants to improve their short game go to a practice green and take 1 ball plus your wedge and a putter. all holes are par 2's and you have to chip to a designated hole, and than go up and finish the hole. play it as your own mini golf game, and you'll be suprised how much better you can get, instead of hitting about 10 balls to a hole without having to putt them in.
  12. there are some hard core golfers out there.. be that as it may, i have a simple goal for 2007... enjoy the rounds i play with my friends, without getting too nuts, because unless i really want to be a scratch golfer again( oh what a pipedream) we should all have a goal to have more fun, work less, throw your cellphones in a pond, and play in some crazy formats, to spice up the year. seriously... it would be nice to have a short game that resembles my other skills, 'cause if i could get chip or pitch better, my handicap would be around a 6 or 7.... the only solid part of my game day in and out is putting. everything else needs work, but with 2 kids and a business to run, i'll settle for good friends, some laughs, a poker game in the grill room, and peace and quiet from my job. i hope all of you stay healthy and have a wonderful christmas with your families
  13. here is my favorites played so far 1. muirfield village (incredible) 2. blue monster doral 3. firestone north and south 4. canturberry 5. royal links las vegas 6. torey pines south course 7. paiute resort las vegas 8. kaiwaih island ocean course 9. the witch mrytle beach 10. avalon lakes warren ohio the midwest is blessed with some great bent grass courses
  14. i've used a 7 iron on several occasions. it is amazing what you can do when using just one club. my best score was an 82, and for a par 70, i was happy with that. makes you wonder why we need 14 clubs. in the spring our league night members will play with one club sometimes. it's a lot of fun. last summer i played in a 4 person scramble. each player can bring one club only, and can not share the other player's club. we had 20 teams, and it was a blast!!
  15. #12 at muirfield village is a beauty & a beast if you miss the green , good luck the slope in front of the green is more severe than on tv i only parred it once in 6 tries
