I got fitted the other day and was hitting my driver great I have a ss 100-105mph carrying the ball 250-265 ish with a ball speed of 155-160mph. I got fitted to a stiff RIP shaft (i believe 60g) After that session my swing fell apart low duck hooks high slices thinned topped balls. It's been messed up since. Yesterday I finally gave up and switched back to my old driver, R5 with a Regular shaft M.A.S 2 mid tip and was hitting it perfect. I feel like I have a smooth tempo so I don't load the shaft that hard. Any explanations of why I can swing my old driver so well and when I jump to my new one (which I wanna use but I'm beginning to hate) its all messed up? With my SS I technically shouldn't be able to hit my R5 that well but man I love that thing!

Nice, but shouldnt you just take an 8 at your handicap and move on? Anyways, how'd you do that lol
-
Just dont hit driver on par 4's unless its long. Its not like you will be hanging up driver for a month or all summer cuz you still have par 5s (i hope lol) Dont hit a club for max distance, hit it to step up a favorable next shot at a comfortable distance. On another note, I hate 50 yard shots lol

I use baseball grip for putting and chipping, I like to feel it in all my fingers. I use interlocking for anything else though

weakening my grip has cured my slice?

Youre just not used to it. Any other grip for me feels weird. Just sit around and hold a club in neutral grip. You'll think other grips are weird after you get used to it -
Lol I figured you were the liberal idiot

Its really hard to be fluid and smooth when you're thinking about a million things. Really just try to trust your swing, you might be surprised how easy it is to repeat too!

Question about a swing fault....
bkoguy07 replied to ajschn06's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I recently had a lesson and my ball striking had been better then ever.. and I was doing exactly what you were saying. Anyways basically the instructor helped me fix it.. my misses are essentially gone and I am an even more consistant ball striker now. It's great, took about a week to fix and now my new swing is comfortable with very few repeating parts. What I used to do if I did miss or was nervous with my older swing was big blocks or push fades (weird weird weird ball flight).. All those misses are going now! Exciting times! -
PING Eye 2s Are the Best Irons Ever Created
bkoguy07 replied to famousdavis's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
It is in fact way classier. We don't like people that have country club memberships around here (allegedly) Probably one of the funniest things I've read in a while -
I mean you are correct, I do think about it. But never on a full swing on the range. I take practice swings and try to develope that feeling of square in the backswing and square at impact. Then I take that out of my head and swing the club with the new feeling. I don't do well with a ton of swing thoughts lol. In fact the only swing thought I honestly have when i step up to hit a ball is Tempo. Find what works for you and then practice that, but I don't conciously think about it on a full swing on a ball.. I try to get that feeling from practice swings

Get someone to buy them from the states and you pay them for shipping costs to euro. problem solved

PING Eye 2s Are the Best Irons Ever Created
bkoguy07 replied to famousdavis's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
In my thread about hybrids and woods. apparently he doesnt have a driver but a 1 iron. interesting -
Too hard, don't conciously think about any of that. The timing is extremely difficult. Just let your body control it leave your wrists out of it
-
Sounds like he's the man to me. He's young he'll get himself together. If not he's still going to have a great life.
-
Yeah sometimes I shank when I start decellerating at the ball... so I'll just give one a huge swing and usually I'm fixed haha

Newb Driving Range Questions....

Go hit both of them and see, but the hybrid could potentially get more use.
-
5wood or what hybrid? Typically a 3H is 19*(around there) like a 5W. I would go try to hit both.. which ever you hit better I would take. The hybrid you can hit out of difficult lies more often so you might want to consider that as well
-
Just choke down on your PW if you really hit it 150. That should help
-
Interesting, I took my 4I out for my 4H because I just can't hit it as well or confidently. I like irons because they are slightly more accurate then hybrids but its negligble for me right now so I'll stick with my Hybrids... not to mention mine land pretty soft since I get them up so high lol. So you feel like having a 3W would greatly benefit my game even if I had a 2H? (like you)
-
Yeah I like the idea of D 2H 3H 4H 5i-9i PW GW SW Putter I'll probably keep my 3W in my bag till I can figure out if I want to upgrade it or possibly throw in another wedge (maybea 60?) who knows lol I keep my 4i outa my bag, I don't like it plus I'm way more confident with my 4H
-
This is exactly what I was looking for! thanks! my 4H is 22* I think i'm going to toss my 3W Go for Driver (which is 10.5* currently but when I get fitted it could change something more or less) 2H 3H 4H(which I probably wont replace right now.. I can hit it fine) 5i-9i PW GW SW Putter That still leaves me with 13, so I suppose I can probably keep the 3W still in the bag lol. I hope me having a 2H and 3H same type wont hinder my ability to strike my 4H (probably going to be a different brand lol)
-
I dont have a 2H or 3H right now not to mention my 3W is old and probably could use replacement. I would probably use the 2H for the par 5's even the 3H. I'm just not comfortable hitting my 3W off the deck but I suppose I could hit it off the tee? I just didnt want to buy a 2H 3H 3W and Driver this summer... (been planning on getting driver anyways)
-
I hit my 4H 200-220 depending on how i choke down on it. I plan on getting a new driver soon. Also I'm looking at whether I should get 2H 3H or should I get a 3W and 3H or something. I dont use my 3W at all right now, plus depending on how I hit a 2H I might not need one? If I get a 2H and 3H with a mismatched 4H (wasn't fitted for this 4H) do you think I would eventually have to replace this 4H... I hit it fine so I'm not sure. I wouldn't mind having a club longer then the 4H, but not sure which route I would like to go down. What do you guys recommend? Essentially I dont know how to set up my bag.. Ideally I think Driver 3W (the one I currently have.. but if I replace it would I hit it more? IDKK) 2H 3H 4H 5i-9i PW GW SW Putter I'm not sure if I should get a new 3W or 2H, or 5 wood or 7 wood for 2H or 3H and If I did buy 2 hybrids that I was fitted for maybe I should buy a 4H that matches? Basically I wish I was rich, I would just replace them all :(
