  1. I've heard the exact same thing from the people at my home course...they get little to nothing from a golfnow tee time booking.
  2. I don't think golf courses actually get the full amount of money you pay to golfnow.com. The course only gets a percentage of the charge for each time..way less than what they would make for a walk-in golfer.
  3. I just call courses directly and book. I'd rather know for sure that the course is getting my money and my tee time and not a website.
  4. I'll also add that some people subconsciously align their bodies to point at their target when it should be parallel to the target line. I always do the intermediate target thing and set my clubface to it, then my body to the clubface.
  5. everything stays the same as if you were hitting it off the ground.
  6. tees are cheap so I just stick on in the ground...forget all the looking around for a broken one. I use mine, pick it up..and continue to use my own now broken tee.
  7. If a newcomer spends more than 500 dollars for a full first set of clubs..they've got a golf buddy who's misguiding them or they have the money to burn.
  8. all i know is that for three years running, my home course has seen the total number of rounds per year increase... Personally, I think the whole "theres a decline in new golfers" is being overblown a bit. I see lots and lots of junior golfers...many who are barely big enough to be taller than a club..out there having fun and playing and learning and so on.
  9. I use a 34 and I always choke down to the bottom of the grip..just always done it. I wouldn't think of cutting my putter down just because I wouldn't want to risk changing how it feels with the way I do it.
  10. where did you hear all this from?
  11. Given the type of player that Bubba is...a total feel player, I don't think he'll ever get to the kind of slump where he just doesn't know whats going on. He's hardly mechanical so I just don't see him getting to a point where he's wondering about this position or that position or whatever. He just sees the shot, feels the shot..and then hits it.
  12. the only time the pain returns is when I swing a club or a hammer or things like that....things that flex that area of the hand. I haven't had any impacts to the hand that would cause a broken bone...and it just started happening out of the blue about a month ago when I started making practice swings getting ready for the new season. the only other "symptom" that I could think of thats related is that my first thumb joint (closests to nail) always feels stiff now. I'm thinking its such a weird area for pain that I'm gonna have to have it looked at.
  13. Ok so when I put a full swing on a club, I get this weird pain in my left hand....but its on the inside/the palm side of the hand.I would reckon its something to do with my thumb but it doesn't feel like tendonitis or anything of that nature..doesn't hurt when I do anything else except anything that applies fast pressure on it(swinging motions). I know about seeing a doctor..just try to avoid going if its something i can let heal up on its own.
  14. I'd start by guessing its from the 80's decade. I think Top-Flite made the muscle shaft.
  15. hybrids should actually fly a little higher than its equal iron due to a little bit lower CoG. If you still get a low ballflight you could always try a different shaft to try and raise your flight some. I have no problem with hybrids skidding but I naturally hit a high ball, anyway.
  16. In my world, the quality of a swing is based on the results...not what it looks like. People talking about all these "flaws" in bubbas swing..flaws produce unwanted results. I come from the camp that there is no "perfect swing" because every player is different bio-mechanically. Anyone who can hit the ball as far as he does and control the movement like he does in order to hit some of the tightest fairways anyone will ever see..they aren't doing "a lot of things wrong"...I'd say its just the opposite.
  17. i need to see more Kevin Stadler swings(unfortunately we are kind of the same shape, lol)
  18. it will always happen naturally but the idea is to KNOW what you're hitting and understand why so that you can repeat it over and over.
  19. Firstly..don't believe the stuff about a fade or cut having backspin while a draw will bounce and roll out. Both shots can have just the same backspin. The curvature of the shot, for sake of this discussion, doesn't have much to do with why pro's go long and spin back. Most of them PLAY for the backspin and so they know landing short with backspin is gonna be worse than going long with backspin..not taking into account any green contours. I would say if you talked to most pro's, they'd probably say they want a little less spin because they'd be able to be a little more precise. RARELY are they wanting a ball to zip back in a way that makes fans ohhh and ahh.. They ideally want the ball to one hop and stop.
  20. just because someone sucks at hitting a fade does not mean that a fades can't go as far as draws. Its really simple, Oceanvue. If all things were equal except the spin axis was exactly opposite, a fade and a draw travel the same distance..why..because the ball doesn't say "oh, I'm supposed to fade, I better pull up!"
  21. yeah, he already did..and he's waiting on you to come join us.
  22. Physics is my best friend..YOU should get to know him :) There is simply NO real world evidence or proof that suggests a fade travels less distance than a draw. a fade swing can have a clubface with less dynamic loft on it than a draw swing and vice versa. Its not a concrete situation.
  23. No, we don't all know that because it simply isn't true :) A fade is is not a weak shot...a high right slice is. Do you guys NOT watch Tiger Woods hit fades further than other guys in his group? Do you NOT see him hit 300 yard fades? A fade and a draw are the same shot, in simple terms, on either side of the target line. One is no different than the other in anything other than the curve.
  24. its not that complicated, Lucius. Some people open their shoulders/bring their arms through too fast which causes an out to in swing. Its not a very long process of keeping your back to the target..its just letting your arms drop down enough so that when you do swing through your shoulders will be more square at impact.

don't ask me...I don't ask what club someone hit in order to pick my own clubs. I do all my picking based on laser numbers.
