  1. Don't hate the Monty's! I see where you are coming from, I do see that too. However, I really don't think he means it in a bad way. Could be wrong, though.
  2. Are we really stooping to the level of pointing out grammar mistakes? Come on now. I just have a hard time believing that a 4 and 6 handicapper know more about Phil Mickelsons stroke then his own coach. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you guys are infact world renowned coaches in the making. However, until then, I think we should give Dave Pelz' the respect and benefit of the doubt and believe him until we have evidence and data to prove otherwise. Support your claim's with factual evidence, and then we can talk. Until then, let's leave it to the guys who know what their talking about. This is my last post in this thread. Thanks.
  3. Ugh. Once again, re-read my statement about being on-line with your view point. You have never seen any one of these strokes on-line or above the swing motion, so what your seeing is invalid.
  4. You are right. I have now come to the conclusion that you, the average golfer, infact know more about Phil's putting technique then his own short game coach and world renowned teacher who wrote the bible on Putting. Phil has a square to square stroke. You sit there on the couch watching him through a camera that is not on-line and without gridlines, which is not reliable. Even if you are standing there watching him putt in a tournament, your eyes will decieve you in the same way. You have to get your eyes on line, (or the camera) or vertically above the swing motion to see whether or not it's rotating. Untill then you can not conclude whether or not he uses the Pils Stroke or Utley's stroke. You have not done this. Dave Pelz' has. I really don't know why I'm arguing this, I feel like I'm talking to a rock.
  5. Ouch. You shouldn't have said that. Dave Pelz', his shortgame teacher, says he putts square to square. He has tested his swings hundreds of times, and has worked with him for countless hours. I think I trust him more than a swollen-headed 4 handicap. Also, with the last part, you know what I meant.
  6. Why in the world would you want a stroke like Trevino? He stood way open to the target, and blocked the ball onto his intended target. It was a mirror image of his full swing, where he would set up the same. He did this because he HAD to, not because it was a good way to put. Putting was also by far Trevinos weakpoint. If he would have putted just a little better he'd have been better than Jack. I would really like to disect every other wrong post in this thread. Maybe later.
  7. Your misinterpretations of Dave Pelz's theory is making me cringe. Did you read his book or no? And please don't go the route of making fun of his handicap. Tell that to Phil Mickelson, Lauren Roberts, Greg Norman, and many many others that use the square to square.
  8. Physical : (note: not all of this is directed at golf) – Continue working out 3 times a week for normal workouts and another 2x a week for golf specific workouts. – Do stretches for around 8 minutes a day. I'm young, but am not the most flexible person in the world. It hinders my swing a bit – Increase my weight from 152 lbs to atleast 185 lbs in 6 months. - Continue working my with Power Hitter Driver and Groovie Weighted Iron, building the muscles that are used in my golf swing. - Work on putting and shortgame 15 minutes each a day. Equipment : – Get a 22 degree hybrid to replace my 4 iron. I don't ever hit an iron lower than 5, as it's the weak part of my game. I need something to fill the gap. - Think about getting new wedges. I carry 4 with me, but none of them are what you would call top of the line. - Get some better balls. I got 2 dozen noodle ices for christmas. Not exactly what I wanted. Mental : - Don't speed up when I make a bad shot or several. This is definitley a tendancy of mine. I need to stay in my routine. – Avoid big blowups. Take your medicine, punch out, and make bogey. – Stay determined and motivated with goals. Game wise : (in order from least difficult to most. have only been playing for 1 1/2 years) - #1 on school team – Get 100 rounds in for the year, including just 9 (think i was c90 this year) – Average
  9. Tough one. I'd probably have to go with golf, albeit very slightly.
  10. I love beating people who use a SkyCaddie when I don't. I don't know, makes me feel kind of proud. :p I wouldn't mind picking one up, unfortunatley I don't have $400+ lying around.

    Warm Up

Practise Rounds w/Friends- * 5 minute session with my momentus power hitter. using the "pump" drill. * 5 minute session with my Groovie weighted iron. using the "pump" drill. * 10 minutes of putting and chipping (start off from 40-50 footers than go down) Practise Rounds/Tournament Rounds- * 10 minute session with my momentus power hitter. using the "pump" drill. * 10 minute session with my Groovie weighted iron. using the "pump" drill. * 15 minutes on the range. (irons, wedges) (my momentus already hits balls) * 10 minutes of putting and chipping (start off from 40-50 footers than go down)
  12. Also, to the person who says instruction DVD's/Books aren't helpfull, that's flat out wrong. I've never taken a lesson in my life. My game is from lots of practise, and books/DVD's like the Short game bible and the Plane Truth.
  13. Have you guys even seen the video? His main point is to swing the clubhead like a baseball bat, and make a "mini-homerun". With that being said, I did not enjoy the video, and did not take anything away from it. I don't know anyone who turns the club like that in the backswing and then the other way.
  14. I don't see where you're getting that. I understood everything fine, and I'm not a technical person. I didn't take everything he say literally, I took most of the main concepts, like the 3x4 system, +12 grip down yardages. (although for me it's PW/Gap/SW/LW) Also, the "world class finish", and many other things he talked about. It's improved my short game.
  15. Sorry for continuing the thread hijack, but I'm definitley a fan of weighted clubs. I bought the Mometus Power Hitter Driver, and the Groovie Iron, and plan on using them over the offseason to improve my distance. (and im sure accuracy as well) My off season routine I'm planning is ... 15 minutes- Weighted Driver 15 minutes- Weighted Iron 15 minutes- Putting
