  1. Did anyone else think that apology was poorly written and seemed a bit kurt?
  2. I'm not feeling this one. To each his own. What do you mean by offset? And you should be feeling as though you are pulling your arm across your chest.
  3. You do this of your own free will?
  4. I didn't know they were.
  5. I thought you meant a cosmopolitan for a second lol...
  6. Thank ya And thank you
  7. Updates look better than originals. Your feet are too close together. You look like you are trying to massage the ball rather than hit it. Get aggressive. Power through the shot with lateral hip movement towards the target.
  8. I have been a huge fan of his since getting to walk inside the ropes with him during a practice round at the 2001 US Open. At that time he was just coming off of his great amateur career and looked as if he would make a huge impact on tour. One of the original "young guns". I'm glad he has made a good career for himself but I'd love to see him find "it" and make a nice run.
  9. I'd stock up on Prov's and maybe get a new fairway wood.
  10. 25 rounds since June and most likely played about 15-20 before then. My guess is I'm between 40-50 rounds thus far. Seems about right as I usually play around 60-70 rounds per year.
  11. Shot a new personal best today! A 2 over par 74! My goal for this summer was to shot a 75, which I did back in August. So, having achieved my goal, I've really been practicing hard and working on getting a more consistent swing so that I can do it again many times. Today was probably to best overall round I've ever had. I mean I was hitting the ball beautifully and my short game was on point. I rarely had to chip on the greens, but when I did I was getting them in there pretty tight. Never hit more than 2 putts and had several one putts. My length was really superb today too. I'd say my average driver was 265 and I even had one drive on the par 5 ninth hole that was right at 300 yards. It's a 530yd hole and I had about 190 to the hole. I hit my approach right at the flag with a 4 iron and drained the 12 ft putt for eagle (first ever)! That eagle gave me a 1 under 35 for the front nine which was a personal best for nine holes. Needless to say, I was pretty amped up the back nine and got a club to club and a half extra as a result. I was eyeing an even par round as I was making routine par after routine par, until on 14 and 15 I had back to back bogeys I stayed positive though and ended up making one more bogey and the rest pars to finish the back with a 3 over 39 and an 18 hole total of 2 over 74! I am a little disappointed about how the back nine ended up, but overall I hit the ball better than I ever have so I am pretty stinking happy.
  12. Mercy....
  13. Okay, okay, I'll give you that. It is ALMOST beautiful.
  14. What! Are we watching the same video?
  15. Do you have any interest in rescinding that last comment?
  16. Dude, it's not a bad swing. Too flat as others have said. You also move away from the ball laterally way too much. Stay more centered over the ball and that will make a huge difference. As far as the length of your swing goes, I think if you take a look at my swing thread you will agree that I rival you
  17. There are players irons and then there are players swings. Fowler has a "players swing" meaning it is not for everybody. There are certain things that he does incredibly well and anyone would do well to repeat them. Then there are things he does that I don't think anyone should try. A swing like that will surely be difficult to maintain as he gets past 35 or so. I really like watching the guy and hope he has a long and prosperous career but I have my concerns about the way he swings the club. Freddie Couples has a much more relaxed and easy swing, yet he has been plagued by back injuries his entire career. I firmly believe Freddie would be near the top of the all time greats list if not for his back problems. I hope it doesn't turn out that way for Rickie.
  18. Tiger Woods....right?
  19. Dude obviously works out lol. I clicked the link to see the other covers and there are several that I would muuuch rather look at. I would not be caught dead reading that at the airport but some of them with the ladies I wouldn't mind showing off.
  20. Now, in most cases a player who is not any good doesn't have any business hitting a players or forged iron at first. It will not make you better. But, I have a friend who boght a $5 6 iron blade at a closeout and he hit that thing for 6 months 3 times a week before he ever set foot on a course. He actually developed the most solid game I have ever seen for someone who had never played a round. He went out with a full set and shot a 98 first time out. If you have that kind of dedication then hitting a blade first should not hurt you at all.
  21. In my opinion the scenario you have just described is not at all caused by following the rules. It was caused by ignorance and inconsiderate people. There is a difference.
  22. Turn around to face them and hit a hard knockdown into the bushes. Repeat as necessary.
  23. I've really developed a problem with this kind of thinking. Why is it necessary to finish a hole in five stinking minutes?! Just relax, you're playing golf, okay. I agree, six hour rounds can and do get hard to deal with but man it isn't the fault of people trying to play by the rules. Even if it is, as a die hard golf fan who posts on forums like this, I would think you might have some appreciation for someone taking the game and their score so seriously. Now, if I see you running up and down the fairway in a cart or taking FOREVER over each shot, or waiting until your playing partner has finished hitting and cleaned his club before you hit, then I may get upset about your pace. But, I will not get upset if I see you taking a drop correctly or consulting the rule book, or returning to the tee, etc.
  24. Good responses. It's a well known fact that golf has lots of rules and many are self enforced. That is unique to most sports. That's one of the reasons golf is considered a gentleman's game. I really do feel that by playing by the rules I am honoring the age old tradition that is golf, but I am also honoring myself, my playing partners, and the course. I feel this way personally but I don't balk when others that I play with don't feel the same way.
  25. I'm just curious who actually plays by the rules here? There is so much talk about the rules of golf on this forum but many people end up proving they don't play by the rules by some of the things they say they've done on the course. Do you play by the rules? And if you do, why do you do so? If you don't, why don't you? Personally, I carry a rule book (but rarely use it) to remind me to play by the rules. I know there are times I likely don't get it exactly right, but I am happy to leave the course knowing I tried to play by the rules. I have no problem whatsoever with those who feel that they need not play by the rules to the same degree as I do. I feel that I reached a certain point in my playing and enjoyement of the game where I felt that the next most challenging thing I could do would be to play by the rules. When I play with friends and they want to make a wager or play a match, I make sure they know I'll only do so if we are playing by the book. What about you?
