When I first played a course, I inevitably ended up in a bunker, and since I didn't know any better, I would take practice swings hitting the sand.

That's pretty cool. I was made aware of this before I got into golf. Not sure if the courses with "lakes/ponds" allow it around here, but I heard a few do hold LMB. I would be tempted to take one of those mini telescoping light tackle setups if there was a place around here.

I agree, it's been getting up there here in California. Still, it's manageable. I guess to me, it's just not that bad. Then again, I've done motorcycle track days wearing full leathers/helmet in 117 degree weather.
