  1. Thanks @nevets88 I'll give it a shot!
  2. Very nice @mvmac , enjoyed hearing your thoughts of what you'd like to do before the shots. @jamo I just watched your video on page 2 just now, your captions are hilarious!! Hope you'll do some more, if you do I'll definitely be watching :) There was soccer on tv here last night and the course was empty , they already closed up before I got out so the flag on the first hole is missing (they take some that are close to the road in at night). I was literally the only one out playing so thought it would be a good time to give the filming a try! I did some commenting but when I came home I found out the microphone didn't really pick much of it up, it was probably too windy. Also I have to figure out how to get the quality a bit better, I filmed in HD but it doesn't really look like that on youtube now ... Hope some of you will enjoy watching, not much special going on but I thought I played ok and had fun doing the filming :)
  3. Thanks Erik, too bad but I understand there's a lot of work involved.
  4. @iacas , are there any plans at all to have this released for windows as well? Been using V1 for a few years now but really like some of the features the analyzr is offering.
  5. @CarlSpackler , that should work all right. Only downside is you can't point the camera up and down or tilt it from left to right but it should fit on your clickgear cart like that for sure.
  6. LOL, that's hilarious! I use it like this for my evolvr video's and just turn them around with software afterwards, but the whole thing tilts really easy for 'regular video's' as well :) I'll try and get out one of these days on a quiet time and do some filming to see how it goes, should be fun. BTW cool to see you play with only one club, I like doing that every now and then, good fun and very easy to walk around with just one club.
  7. Just saw this post, good fun watching you guys! I've filmed my swing out on the course but never made any longer video's. For the people looking to mount a camera to their trolley somehow, I did the following: I screwed a camera mount into the threads for the umbrella holder. Very easy to mount and unmount the camera like this and it sits secure on the trolley while pushing it around.
  8. Thanks guys, really appreciate it! :) CarlSpacker, some good idea's for a fund raiser during a tournament. I really like the idea of the raffle tickets on the par3, I've seen something similar over here several times where you pay to be in the 'hole in one' challenge to win a car. The other idea's are good and could be fun as well but this would work in a 'serious' tournament as well without affecting scoring. I think I'll try and see if I can get my local course to 'borrow' me one of the par3's during a club tournament one day for something like this :)
  9. Would be a tough day playing all day long but it would be for a good cause! :) Birdies4Elephants is going well, thanks for asking. It's given me the opportunity to tell lots of people about the problems facing the elephants and the danger of extinction. Would have liked to have made more birdies by now but there's been lots of people helping which has been great. I wrote an update on the website the other day or you can follow things on facebook if you'd like :)
  10. @Royster1984 , how is the charity golf coming along? :)
  11. It's pretty straight forward. If you need to replace the inner cable you might as well do the outer cable as well while you're at it so that everything is nice and smooth again. You can get the cables from a bicycle store. Here's a guide from clickgear, they have a video on it too: http://www.clicgearusa.com/v/vspfiles/assets/manuals/SB-04-Brake_Cable_Replacement_Model_30.pdf
  12. It's a 009, you can order those as a custom order from a few of the distributors but it's up to Scotty if he'll make it exactly like Speiths or stamp it up differently. The design Speith plays with with the Titleist script and the "Cameron" in the cavity is a fairly common one though, shouldn't be impossible to find one very much like it sold second hand.
  13. Great initiative Royster! Maybe you could have people sponsor you with a small amount for every hole you can manage to play in a day and try to play as many as you can? I try and raise awareness for the plight of elephants by making birdies and telling everybody I get paired to about them. I've had several people in my flights join me to raise money for them for the day or donate afterwards which so far has been really great. Please see the link in my signature for more information about it if you're interested :) Keep us updated with what you decide to do?
  14. @Nemicu welcome to the forum :)
  15. I film a lot of my swings in the covered area of the driving range, unfortunately we get quite a bit of rain and if I wouldn't go practice in the rain I'd have weeks of not hitting balls at all, lol. You won't need footage of the ballflight so as long as there's enough room to film yourself swinging from the front and down the line and there's sufficient light for your camera to work you should be ok.
  16. Dave and Erik, thanks a lot for posting this little preview of the book. It's such simple and clear advise yet something I've not thought about enough in the past. I feel confident chipping but if I can choose I'd rather take my chances putting. Since I saw this thread I have played a few 9 hole rounds and aiming for the center of the green seems a much easier task then aiming for the flag which helps me mentally as well so I can swing more relaxed in a way. It sure has helped my scores already, can't wait to read the whole book when it's done! :)
  17. Actually it has a fixed smash factor and makes an educated guess of your carry distance based on the club head speed. It can't see if you hit the ball well or not, or if you even hit a ball at all for that matter. I think Swing Byte gives you clubhead speed as well? if it does you could extrapolate the carry distance just like the 3Bays unit does yourself.
  18. @BubblesUSMC , how is it better then the TOMI, is it just the ease of use or also the rest of the features? The TOMI seems to give more elaborate feedback?
  19. Nice job @David in FL looks like some pretty good contact there! :D It's fun to try, I know a few people who are left handed so whenever I meet them on the range I sneak in a few swings with one of their clubs. Not that long ago I even used it out on the course, I was right next to a big tree and had no swing at all so in stead of doing the smart thing and just taking the drop I turned around my sandwedge. It wasn't pretty but I managed to fling the ball fairly close to the green and halved the hole, LOL. Too bad we lost our badges for this, I liked that one
  20. I play the 775's as well. I have tried the MP64's on several occasions last month and think they are a really nice iron. They feel/sound a little different then the 775's on good impact (very nice feeling) and performance is about the same as the 775's for me. They have slightly wider soles so should be a bit more forgiving on fat shots and I really liked the look of them at address. Not enough of a difference for me to consider switching, but they sure felt like nice clubs. They didn't seem more demanding compared to the 775's to me either.
  21. I hadn't followed up on this thread but just saw the email saying you reached your goal. Congrats guys! Sorry I couldn't contribute more, still really looking forward to see what the book will look like once you're done :)
  22. Thanks a lot for clearing that up for me Mike! I had enough distance between the balls so know I'll have to pay more attention to the first bit of the takeaway as well
  23. In the Key #3 Flat Left Wrist - Two Ball Drill video, would your normal swing not hit the ball in the back either or is it more of a drill to exaggerate things and clean up the downswing? Mike gave me this drill in my last evolvr lesson and I've been practicing it for the last 3 days but keep knocking the back ball away on my backswing ... makes me wonder if I should really lift the clubhead more in the backswing or if that's not what the drill is for and I should just be happy if I can avoid hitting it on the way down? Thanks :)
  24. You could also try having a look at Vectorworks, they have a plugin called 'landmark' with specific landscaping design tools. Guess it depends on what you'd like to do as the learning curve on that is pretty steep as well, especially if you don't have any previous cad drawing experience?
  25. the pistolero is a lot heavier, it's make the putter play about 4-5 swingweights lighter then with a studio grip, so you may or may not want to select different weights for it based on that.
