Years ago Payne Stewart signed a big deal with Top Flite and had to use cast irons instead of forged ones and his game took a nosedive. Sometimes equipment does matter. Perhaps you're right about Rory, but so far it's looking like a bad decision. Returning to form and winning will stop all of the speculation.

If the toothache story turns out to be BS, then Nick Faldo is starting to look pretty smart when he said Rory was making a mistake changing equipment.

For the ninth year since their birth, I've once again had to watch the Houston Texans find new and exciting ways to lose. They've really outdone themselves this season. The worst part is that the owner (Bob Mcnair) publicly said last week that he thinks the team is headed in the right direction. Unbelievable. Gary Kubiak is a nice man, but he's had five years to get this team to the playoffs and hasn't gotten it done. I know it's just a pipe dream, but I wish Mr. Mcnair would show Kubiak the door and pay the big bucks to get Bill Cowher. Hey, I can dream.

That's correct. The set I just ordered are silver dot ( 3 1/2 degree upright from standard ) and 1" longer than standard because I'm 6'4".

Actually, Ping started making their clubheads in China a couple of years ago. I just spent two days getting custom fitted for a combination K 15 hybrid/iron set and that's what the pro told me. I had a set of Zing 2 irons and I've always regretted selling them. It's really great how Ping gives the same attention to lefties as they do to righties.

I remember years ago I saw a Ping fitting cart and it had right handed clubs in every color code and and length while in a corner were two black dot lefties. It was as if we don't matter.

Thanks to everyone for all the great advice! I've just manage to locate and buy a 15 degree Ping hybrid from the Callaway preowned site. If this doesn't work I'll shorten a 3 wood and try that.

Does such a thing exist? Whenever I tee up a driver or 3 wood I'm very inconsistent, but when I just hit off the ground with my 19 degree Ping hybrid I can hit it long and straight just about every time. If there was a 13 degree hybrid I could buy, I think I would just pull the driver and 3 wood out of the bag. I've tried to hit the 3 wood off the ground, but I have trouble with the length of the shaft. I'd like to have the hybrid shaft length with the lower loft. Can anybody help? Thanks!

Me too. I got the Geomax hybrid iron set a couple of years ago and I've never been happier.

What a great thread! I was born and raised in Terre Haute and went to ISU before I moved to Texas 30 years ago. In May I went up for the Indy 500 and the day before the race my brother and I drove to Clinton and played Geneva Hills. It was a truly wonderful course, although I must admit that I found the tee shot on the par three 12th a little intimidating!
