  1. I've been going through hundreds of pages and no one has an actual review on how well the Tour AD F-Series shafts compare to other shafts for a 3 wood specifically a TSI2. Is this shaft worth going after since it was specifically designed for fairway woods. I have the IZ in my driver and love it, my other consideration was a HD for the 3 wood. Any thoughts, I tend to have a low launch angle as it is so any help would be great in my 3 wood. Thanks in advance, Eric
  2. Depends on where your going to be in Myrtle, I've played Wicked once and wasn't a huge fan of it. I'm from Pauleys Island just south of Myrtle. So if your looking for alternatives I might be able to help ya out.
  3. Morning Community, Been looking at the Oakley Banger Stand bag and was just wondering if anyone has had one before or seen one in person. Not sure what kind of quality and or durability this newer edition bag has. I've read some reviews on there older model but nothing about this new one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  4. I'm around 290 off the tee with a handi of 1.8 atm.... Distance to handicap does have some factor I suppose. I mean your handicap gets adjusted for playing the different tee boxes due to slope. But playing the tips compared to the front/middle mens tees is totally different. Ahh also if your consitently straight and you continue to hit your tee shot that distance you will be hitting longer irons into the greens instead of hitting easy wedge shots. But just keep practicing and mid irons will be dead on and you will be able to stick your irons close as well. But, all in all there are just a lot of factors into this topic.
  5. I love how it keeps saying the younger people. Well the funny thing is, us younger people are the future so in time it will all be allowed any way. I only wear cargo shorts, I feel comfortable in them. I hate wearing the 50's tight short shorts that are considered dressy. I'd rather feel comfortable and wear a loose fitting cargo shorts. Have room in my pockets for glove ball tees ball repair... Things of that nature. Cell phones are you kidding me, not allowed, I set mine on vibrate and check it periodically. What if there is an emergency thats the fastest way to get a hold of me. Now if the guy is just standing over his ball yackin on his phone that is a different story as should get hit over the head for slowing everyone up.
  6. I'm in North Carolina at the moment. For the most part we can golf 10 months out of the year and the only reason I don't golf the other 2 is 30 degree weather. I would say for me, during the 4 months of colder weather I slow down a lot and may play 2 times a month. Just to take a break for the most part. But, before living in NC I lived in Wisconsin where I would say we get about 7 months of golfing. That winter break was a little long for my liking and found myself hitting in heated outdoor ranges during those months.
  7. My AFSC would definetly not help me out in the golf industry unless I was Bill Murray chasing a gopher. I would take anything I guess in the golf industry. The biggest benefit I guess to not becoming a pro is I still get to just be a member at a course and play in the club tourny/leagues things of that nature.
  8. Once saw a group of guys in cars racing around the course getting to the next tee. The last cart didn't decide to slow down and rolled the cart.. Sad part all the beer in his cooler spilled out and rolled down a 20 foot hill getting all shaken up.
  9. Completely situational for me. I loved playing in tournaments where your qualifying rounds were stroke play narrowing the field down to 16 players to go into a brutal 3 days of match play. But, the match play was always the best.
  10. My father taught me how to play. Had me started when I was 3 years old and never stopped playing. Played a lot in middle school and everyday in highschool. But now in the military with family so lucky if I get to play once a week.
  11. I keep thinking about this, I've always wanted to become a golf pro at a nice golf course somewhere. Currently though working on my 7th year in the military, and plan on finishing the whole 20. I'm also working on my general classes towards a BA degree. I've seen courses you can take once you have your degree that will excel you into a level 1 and 2 of the pga checkpoints. I suppose the one thing that worries me would be, 38 married with kids and starting out as an entry level making $10 and hour / $25,000 a year. I would have full health care and a retirement from the military but would like to be a little bit more comfortable at that age. Would there be better positions for a 20 year service member with a BA in Business at a golf course or should I find something else. Just maybe work part time here and there to get free golf at the course. Any insight would be appreciated, might change my studies a bit thats why I'm looking now before I'm commited to something.
  12. Thats interesting on not liking tape... I've never had problems with two sided tape slipping or loosing grip. I'm suprised they didn't take the old tape off, I guess thats why I like doing it myself I clean all the old tape and make it like its brand new. But, you shouldn't have any issues with the old tape being left on.
  13. I always do my grips my self, simple project and I suppose I just like working on my clubs myself. two sided tape and turpentine
  14. The futura just seems likes it a less material version of a ohh forgot what its called byt the odyssey two ball putter. both same size just less material. could be wrong though never held a futura just googled it
  15. That is a very interesting spot for the shaft to connect to the putter. I assume your use to that, I've never tried that. As for my opinion on putters, can't go wrong with a SC if you can afford it.
