Hey Philly fans you might want to check out your hockey websites.....Carter and Richards gone......But you did get back and sign Voracek, Schenn, Simmonds and Bryzgalov.....Im a Rangers fan and I dont know how to feel about this.....
-
RIP Derek Boogard.... You will be missed not just by Ranger & Wild fans but by all hockey fans.....

Ok in my opinion the hit was unfortunate but Chara did not intentionally try to injure Pacioretty .. Chara finished a check period...If he let up Pacioretty might have gone around him for a breakaway... One thing I have heard from anyone and don't understand is WHY THE HELL IS THERE NO PADDING ON THE STANCHION.....Nobody seems to take this into account....

Matching Hybrides and wedges with your irons...
Slappy9 replied to BobbyBoneZ's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
My clubs are 9.5 - 15 - 19 - 22 - 25 - 28 - 32 - 36 - 40 - 45 - 50 - 54 - 58. Gaps - as close to 4* I can get. If you go with 2 wedges 51* and 56* - keep the 3iron and get an 18* hybrid Or 3 wedges 50* - 54* - 58* no 3 iron and get a 19* or 20* hybrid. P.S.you will always be confused and wont get any better...haha -
It just seemed Distance was better, Dispersion was way better by almost half, its light but could really feel where the head was and it just felt amazing like I was hitting cotton balls. Also its winter here---those numbers with the 9064LS are better than my mid season numbers from last year when I was playing well....

My launch angles we always around 14.7 - 15.1 - 14.9 etc I cant remember my backspin but it was always a little high. I had 2 shots where the launch angle was 11.2 & 11.7 and they ended up at 289 & 291 which were the 2 best shots I hit. I just want to make sure the launch moniter isnt just making me look good so I buy the club... .

The Launch monitor I was using at golf galaxy wasnt giving me my SS, I was using my normal swing speed with my R7(which is 104) and average like 265yds, and I was testing the Adams 9064LS so in theory I could have been swinging with a faster swing speed just due to the areodynamics of the 9064LS.(4mph faster would be 109) I was only hitting the new R11 that I was also testing on average 267yds. So with what your saying and logic I am going to come to the conclusion I am swinging the 9064LS faster than my R7 resulting in more distance - So this means im going to be out $299 because im going to have to buy this club...

What exactly is the smash factor?

Ok ave been testing out new drivers and dont know where my numbers should be - do these seem correct? SS - 105 Launch angle - 14.7* Ball Speed - 157 Distance - 285 And I know my backspin was alil high - I think it was like 3200rpm I have a very high ball flight.

I would love to see the shot-tracker used more.... I'm not some big traditionalist that is afraid of change but I can just see network execs sitting there with a focus groups of Jersey Shore rejects trying to figure out how to use the technology to capture this "up and coming" target audience. You had to bring Jersey into this!!!

Why aren't center shafted putters more popular ?
Slappy9 replied to inthehole's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Love the look of them just can't sink a putt.. Im have an Inside Down the Line Stroke and a Anser style putter works best for me .But if im missing the putts right a #9 style helps me close the face .. -
I went to Golf Galaxy the other day and tried the some putters out and the Cleveland Platinum Black CC2 putter might be one of the best putters I have ever used.. The feel is ridiculous, the look is great, it rolls the ball dead on, but the best part is its only $79.99!!!!!!!!This might be only of the best deals out there right now if it was a sale but it's not it's the regular price.... I dont talk up alot of equipment but I really had to mention these putters do yourself a favor and give these a chance you wont regret it.... I can't wait to go back this week to pick it up.....

Im very handy and like to tinker around with stuff all the time and I was wondering if anyone else have made anything to help improve their game.. If so please list maybe it would help othes! I have cut down one of those noodle pool toys (about 3ft) to lay on the ground to help with the swing path of my driver. I lay it down next to the ball on a staight line or slightly angled for a draw and if I hit the noodle I know my swing path is off.. Works similar to driveway markers, but this will indicate path and will imediatly show any mistakes becuase the noodle will move.. (I saw a Pro using one and though it was a great idea) I have cut down a old 7iron to about 2/3rds it original size and regriped it so that I could swing the club in the house and not break everything. I had an extremely bad case of tendonitis in my right shoulder so I made my own Big Stick Stretching Pole ( Dustin Johnson uses one) instead of paying $85. I took an expandable broom handle (expands to like 6-7ft) $7 at HomeDepot and a hand ball from Sports Authority $2 and drilled a hole in the hand ball to a size slightly smaller than the threads on the broom handle. Srew on the ball and you saved around $76. After a couple initial therapy sessions and using this stretching pole for 5 minutes before a round or the range I have not had any problems with my shoulder! This is the most important thing in my bag!!!!!

New set of Irons for a 20-25 Handicap?
Slappy9 replied to Slappy9's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
He has only been playing like 14 months.. I just dont want to tell him to buy clubs that are to much for him to handle, and have to turn around and trade them in for another set.. -
I have the Grom and I love it, but its the older model with the woode top. Its a great bag with a lot of pockets and room for everything without looking ridiculous. The only think is that for a stand bag it is kind of HEAVY!!! Being heavy doesn't bother me all that much because I use a golf cart mostly or a push cart, I usually will only walk 9 holes, but if you walk 18 you will start to feel it towards the end.

One of my friends is looking into buying a new set of irons and he is about a 25 handicap but is improving fast and might get down to a 20 this summer. Ive mentioned to him to look into the Ping G15s, but should I also have him take a look at the I15s or do you guys think that might be to much club for him at that handicap. He also mentioned the Titleist AP1s and the Mizuno JPXs. What clubs should he be looking at? And if you have other club suggestions they are appreciated!

How Long Should 1 Golf Lesson Last..
Slappy9 replied to Slappy9's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Thanks for the feed back guys I value your opinions. I might have to do more research for Teaching Pros in my area that will do a lessons package (like 3 or 4 - half hour, 45 minute lessons) that has video swing anaylsis. It just seems in my area its one or the other. -
Im a huge Rangers fan and I have heard rumors that New York Rangers may end up getting the winter classic 2012 but I cant figure out where they would play it?? I wish Yankee Stadium but it cant be held there due to the Pinstrip Bowl....So I guess the choices would be Citi Field-Cental Park(unlikely but that has been circulating because of the special anniversary coming up)-Meadowlands..Also who should they play Devils-Islanders-Philly-Boston-Washington, or another original six team???

Ive been looking at alot of hybrids lately and I keep finding myself going back to the Adams, it seems to be the best one Ive tested...I might pull the trigger on it soon..

Just like the title how long should a golf lesson last...1/2 hour, 1 hour ,3 hours.. I ask this because when the snow melts I will be taking some more lessons, with a new instructor... I like my current instructor and the on-course instructions but his lessons are on a par 3 course only. Yes this has made my Short game pretty solid by my long irons and woods have suffered...My driver especially, I have the distance (on average 270yds) but if lucky I hit 2 out of 5 fairways (wicked slice).. Now I have 4 choices, 1. Good golf pro, 3 - half hour classes at the driving range - $100 ( this teacher improved one of my playing partners swing alot) 2. The Best Instructor In N.J. David Glenz- 1 hour class with computer anaylsis - $200 3. One of the instructors at the Glenz Academy - 1 hour class with computer anaylsis $150 ( 1 of the Intsructors is Top 100 in the country and another is ranked #2 in the state) 4. At the Glenz Academy - a 3 hour Full Swing class or just Driver class computer anaylsis and video of before and after - $225 Should I take one long class, three short ones, or pay alittle extra and take the 1 hour lesson twice. Any advice helps but any instuctor that can chime in would be much appreciated!! Im not sure what makes the best lessons (teacher/ time/price/computers/video) What do you think is my best options?
