  1. Wearing a white belt with these pants is tacky. Pink or orange would be better.
  2. If it were to take you 30 mins to read that - I could agree but it was at most a 5 minute read.
  3. 31 years old - usually wear khaki cargo shorts and a Nike Dry-Fit polo. Once I get a decent set of clubs (money is a tight right now) I will have a set of knickers or some other garish outfit. Just because I can....
  4. That't the one I have. I will be going out of my way to purchase more in the future. Great glove for me.
  5. So you have Jack, Watson, Player and Trevino winning everything - well that is 4 guys. So I would say that outside of those 4 then - there wasn't any competition. (using your logic) Tiger has won, Phil has won and a lot more than 2 other guys have one majors in the Tiger era - the competition for those majors is tougher . Heck they finally got rough at the Masters once Tiger came along. Phil is a hall of fame golfer and were it not for Tiger he would be considered as much more of a golfer that he is (and I HATE Phil - so I don't say that out of some fawning for the guy). The fact no one other than Tiger has more than 3 majors - speaks more about Tiger's ability to beat them out than their talent level. If you don't want to compare Tiger's accomplishments to others - look at his individual stuff. Tiger has lower scoring average (that has nothing to do with other players but his play agains the courses themselves), won the career slam at a younger age, won it a second time at a younger age. Has more majors than Jack at the same age. He owns the scoring records at most if not all of the majors. He shot 12 under at a US Open where the next best guy didn't break par. He won a British Open without using his driver. - To quote another post. Jack himself has said that todays players are tougher and better than the guys in his era - considering he played against them - I take his assesment.
  6. Got little brother one for Christmas last year. (elite?) Has exactly one game - Tiger Woods 2008. He then went out and bought a 50 inch flat screen - phenominal. I made him get the aux cooler deal from day one. No red circle of death yet.
  7. Used to have a Wilson - lasted about a year. It isn't unservicable just that it was starting to really wear a hole on the meat of the palm. Now I have a FootJoy that is AWESOME.
  8. WOW - no really good players other than Tiger in today's PGA Tour huh? I don't believe I have ever read something so completely ignorant as that on this board. Sure the top guys aren't that close to Tiger but I would say they sure as heck could have competed with the same guys pushing Jack in his day. I would be willing to bet that if they were back there, with Jack he might have a few less majors and wins and guys like Trevino, Player, and Watson would have had some stiff competition for the whatever Jack didn't win. Perspective - the reason Phil, Vijay, Mickleson, Els and the like don't seem all that good (according to you) is because Tiger is that far beyond them.
  9. Depends - if he can keep himself occupied I think he will be fine. Hate to think of his putting when he gets back - all he can do is putt right now I would think (can't put much of a strain on that knee/leg) Let Tiger practice putting for a year? Gonna be some insane 90 yard puts for albatross coming.....
  10. Vokey SM are going for 109 around here, you did good on the price. I have been swinging (and trying to talk myself into buying a couple) them myself a bit at the store. I like the look and feel a touch better than the CG's seem to be. I had heard that the CG's are a touch longer than others though....
  11. Dropkick Murphys - Meanest of Times (love the band along with Flogging Molly and The Tossers - fully 65% of my CD collection comes from those bands)
  12. First - Phil isn't going to do that. Second - The gap will be closer but I doubt it would close (I say that not knowing the specifics of how they actually figure it out. Guessing the BCS is an easier equation) Third - Until someone takes that ranking from Tiger while he is playing (actively) he is the world's best golfer. I don't give 2 squirts in a bucket what anyone says. Someone may have the actual title while Tiger is hurt but you can not tell me they are actually better golfers than Tiger. What interests me is when Tiger retires - how long would he still be #1 before someone in the field overtook him with their play on tour.
  13. Re-shaft the driver if you like it. Fairly inexpensive from what I hear. Holds you over till you find a new one and gets rid of any concerns you have about the senior flex.
  14. I'd save the money - invest etc and use the $$ to "practice" all over the world at great places like St. Andrew's, Pebble, Whistling Straights (to name a few).
  15. First - please find both a spell checker and a shift key. We aren't texting one another with a cell phone. We all make mistakes typing and the like, but that was very difficult to read. Just a few seconds of proof-reading would really go a long way towards making the post easy to read, so we all can tell what the heck point you are trying to make. Second - Jack or Tiger? I grew up watching golf on my great-grandmother's floor. Every Sunday after Mass was "Jack is on the TV, turn it on and be quiet" so I have a very healthy appreciation for what he did. That said I have to say that Tiger is the GOAT. The man simply dominates in an era where the field is so even behind him. I realize that Jack places 2nd at many and that his competition has an impressive record of Majors as well. The thing for me is that this field that Tiger plays in, I would think that many of them would have been outstanding back in Jack's day as well and the spread of Major wins might have easily been across many more players. The pond of available talent was smaller in Jack's day. To call one greater than the other though, it does NOTHING to diminish the other in my mind. To me Jack will always be special, as will Tiger. Hogan was great too; can someone put a label on one as the GOAT? Yes but unless you are really trying to be an idiot, giving it to Tiger, Jack, Arnie, Hogan or Snead - every choice is wrong and right at the same time.
  16. Ok - with the new information (Tiger has a broken stick and bad knee) does that change anything? Tiger becomes more or maybe the field less? *If you say it like I would to a friend in a bar bet - "I beat the guy and I was playing with a bad ACL and 2 fractures in my leg" it sounds rather impressive to someone*
  17. Rocco does bring an easiness to the squad though. Show those guys how to stare EXTREME stress in the face and laugh. Maybe that would help the guys and get them loose. No pressure because Tiger isn't there, no pressure that we haven't done the best lately. Get the team having fun and playing good golf at the same time.
  18. Oh it does. Just that if someone wins a major I don't hold it against them that Tiger wasn't there. The person that is the happiest over all of this is Phil - the Rocco OT rounds took the focus off his bone headed decisions and that 9 in the tournament and now everyone is focused on Tiger and his medical issue. I will say this - of someone like Adam Scott or Sergio wins a major - there won't be much said about the field but if Phil does someone will comment that he had it easier without Tiger in his head. IMO people think Phil is mentally weak when Tiger is playing - who am I to say if he is or not though....
  19. No. You play who you play. We haven't asterisked the majors since Hogan, Nicklaus or Arnie stopped playing in them - we shouldn't for Tiger.
  20. I said if he won the Open that we should probably hide the belts and shoe laces of the other guys. Tiger off 2 months of no golf, knee surgery and the like, we might find someone swinging from a shower rod. Well he did win with more of an injury than anticipated. Now tell me this. Tiger shuts it down for the rest of the year, comes back and wins his first tournament back. What the heck goes thru the mind of the other guys on tour then? I mean they have to feel a little bit like he is super human now, how about after being off THAT long?
  21. Tiger's year (abbreviated) would be a great CAREER for many.
  22. Retief has to be feeling a touch stupid right about now as well. Faking it
  23. Ahh - ok so the #1 ranking is safe then. No offense but I don't see Phil doing that. I mean he just got smoked by a one legged man in his back yard As to the knee injury - my brother has had his left knee done twice and the right once. The first time was a motocross accident and local Doc did the work. The second time was skiing and the guy who rebuilt it was the same that did Kobe's in Colorado. Much better repair according to my bro. He was on it a lot sooner. I would speculate that Tiger can afford a good butcher so I think he will be ok going into next year.
  24. 500 weeks at #1? Dang I wasn't aware of that stat. I wonder though, with him bring down the rest of the year, what are the odds he loses that ranking?

    Ian Poulter - Ass

You said YOURSELF that it could not be said with certainty that it was directed as a cussing out of a person. What the heck? Either stay on topic of how Ian accosted the person who edits this site (as in he is the eye witness because it happened to him ) or simply admit you have issue with someone not caring for your favorite golfer. It is DEVIATION as the thread was about Ian's behavior not Tiger's. If you would like to compare the 2 then start your own thread - this is specifically about Ian not about rationalizing what he did or didn't do based on someone else's behavior. "But Daaad, everyone else is doing it" doesn't fly here. (my 8 year old knows better that that, and the cry of "Tiger does it too" is on the same level)
