I recently ordered two Cleveland Launcher fairway woods (3 and 5) and was wondering if anyone had this or had tried it out? Haven't tried it myself, so I'm pretty excited to try i when it arrives. Regular flex on both of the clubs.

Make me happy about my purchase!

I have the Launcher 3 wood. I use i a lot. One of my favorite clubs. Mine is 15* an I use it to tee a lot and on deep fairway shots. It hits well and sends the ball flying.

I recently played a 510 yard Par 5 and teed with it into the wind. Had a decent shot. On the edge of the fairway I pulled it out again and was 15 yards off the green.

When I really get a hold of one that 3 wood will carry 250-260 and roll a bit more.

It creates beautiful shots.

Congrats on your new woods. I think you'll love them.

I bought the strong 3 wood and 5 wood at the start of the season and I couldn't be happier with them. Great feel and hot off the club face. Fantastic clubs.

Nice, I really think I will be happy with them, they are actually my first set of woods. Had a Pro Select 3-wood before, until it's head fell off, so I'm looking forward to trying these woods.

Btw, what shaft do you have? I ordered them with the Fujikura Golf shaft instead of the red one. Think the difference between the two was a slight higher trajectory with the gold shaft, but shouldn't be to much I think.

I have the Red shafts in both woods, both stiff. Needed a bit lower ball flight. Had the Yellow in my old Hibore, seemed a bit whippy for me.

notice my sig: i absolutely couldn't be happier with my 3w...hitting a ball 250+ feels great with it... i have a gold fit on fujikura because the red was just a bit low for my pleasing. i've suggested it to a few friends, 2 of which have purchased at least one fairway because of it, the other bought a hybrid and driver. best of luck, hope you love em

That's a little concern I have actually, have never tried them, and hope they don't go too high. In Norway many of the courses has a lot of wind from time to time, so it's good to keep the balls low. Don't know if regular is a optimal shaft flex for me either. Considered to let a pro suggest what flex to choose, but it would cost me 40 dollars (and a 2 hour bus trip just for this), so I used the Golfsmith "calculator" to find out that regular would fit me, but of course, having a pro looking at my swing would be much better.

Will probably get them in the start of next week!

The yellow doesn't fly too much higher, I didn't mind the ball flight actually. Hopefully you like the woods. They are great clubs and you won't be disappointed, I can promise you that.

Yea, that's something I've thought of and heard as well, so I hope its right. The main reason I ordered them with the gold shafts is that they were in stock, if I had gone with the red shaft, I would have to wait 7-10 more days, and to be completely honest, the reason I wanted the red one was because of the colour, not the trajectory . It was later on that I first found out that the qualities were different as well.

I have it. It's alright. I really love it off the tee, but not a huge fan off the fairway with it...

Nothing wrong with it, just not my favorite club, haha.

I see, hehe, well I am now pretty sure that I'm going to be quite satisfied with the clubs, seing as I've never owned a fairwaywood before (well, one, a bad and cheap one ). But we'll see how it goes! Nice to hear what you think of the club, thanks.

Great club. Pretty consistently 250yds+ off the tee with a beautiful ball flight. Nearly as long off the deck.

You'll be happy, for sure.

(I have the stock Gold Stiff shaft)

I have a similar question for those familiar with the cleveland fairway woods. I ran a search and did't get a specific answer. I need a new 3 and 5 as i am currently playing with a 1996 TM burner 3 wood and spalding executive 5 wood (broke the burner 5) and recently caught the golf bug bad. I am a mid to high 80s golfer. I hit good off the fairway with my current fairways but lack good distance. Would you all recommend the Hibore XLS or the 09 Launcher. Local golf store has them on sale for $115. Was looking at the TM Burner as well...07 model was $129. Did not like Diablo or Nike fairways. Anyone provide me differences in the two Cleveland fairwoods, recommendations, pros-cons, or any feedback on them compared to burner fairway woods would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and new to forum and could not start new thread...hope this isnt considered leeching off someone elses post.

I ended up purchasing the 09 Launcher fairway 3 and 5 wood as the shop discounted them and did not have the burner 07's in. Played my first round with them yesterday and let me just say i could not be happier with the purchase (109 each). I was hitting the 5 wood of the fairway for over 225, straight and beautiful. Out of the four par 5s (all par 5s on course in low 500 range) I was on in two in two of them. The two I was not on in two, the first i had a poor drive were i hit a worm burner to the left and then I hit the 3 wood over 250 yards that put me 25-30 yards of the green. The second I had a bad lie, was even on the fairway, but a small burr was behind the ball leaving it on a down slope. I ended up hitting behind it with the 5 wood and topped it for like 75 yards. You do not want to know what i did with my 6 iron after that.

The best with these woods came on a 311 par four though. Friend pulled out his Burner driver and I pulled out my 3 wood. He told me that we were not going to drive the green with our drivers ( i own a burner) and that i probably wouldn't come close with my 3 wood. I would hit my old three wood about 240-250 yards off the tee as i had a slight slice with it. He teed up an hit the ball about 35 yards off the green just on the left side of fairway...great hit. I hit the Cleveland three wood about 5 yards deeper (closer to hole) and in the middle of the fairway. Now my friend has been slowing down his swing trying to eliminate a bad hook he recently developed, and though very pleased with the drive, he has gotten a little more distance on his drives in the past with the burner. Also, i had a very good swing on that drive and made good contact. Still, like he said, when we walked up to look at our lies, boy do i have a lot of respect for that club.

So yes, my first experience with the Launcher woods was a totally positive experience. I have no regrets with the purchase and I am hitting both straight, and with good distance, teed up or right off the fairways. If you are one comfortable with hitting fairway woods, then I have no problems giving you two thumbs up if your are considering these fairway woods. I really do like them.
