I don't know too much about equipment. I have GI irons right now. With a blade or small cavity back iron does the ball actually launch lower (then GI) when u hit it in the middle of the face then when u hit the GI in the middle? Or do blades just launch lower on misshits?

Pretty much what Im saying is do u get the same trajectory and distance from a game improve iron and a blade assuming u hit in the middle of the face with the same club head speed and all that other jazz people on this forum know about

i'm no expert and i could be wrong but when i switched from my titleist 981's to my Hogan Apex Blades i saw a lower trajectory on my shot initially and saw a little more distance. unfortunatly i stopped playing as much as i ised to and have since switched to Mizuno MP-52's and now i see a higher trajectory but my miss hits are WAY better off than the miss hits with my Hogans. My biggest mistake when i got my Hogan's was getting rid of my 981's. I would;ve been nice to have a cavity back forgiving clubs to put back in the bag when my game started to turn south. I now have the mizuno's in the bag but the hogan are not far away and if my swing stays on the pace and consistancy it is on right now they might make another apperance before the end of the season. I'll tell you this a perfectly struck shot with a muscle back blade is the best feeling shot you can have with a golf club. good luck in whatever you end up doing.

Pretty sure the ball flight has more to do with the shaft than the head.

higher than the hogan's, probably higher than the titleist's but i played the titleists a long time ago and can't exactly remember. I was a much better player back when i played the titleist. I have had s300's in the titleist and the mizuno's. the hogans have the apex matched shafts.

Typically, a 'players' club will have a lower launch and trajectory. This is mostly due to the center of gravity and perimeter weighting of the club. GI clubs are weighted more to help get the ball up, and with players clubs, the player doesn't need the help so they are weighted in such a way that makes them easier to manipulate the flight of the ball. The shaft can have a little or a lot to do with it also depending on what the shaft properties are.

In my experience, any club hit in the center of the face will do pretty much the same thing and go just as far. There are a couple of things that could make one club's performance different than another, loft, length, lie, and shaft being the main factors.

If your asking whether or not your game would be better with players clubs rather than the GI clubs, who knows. If you are hitting the center of the face with a good swing every time, I doubt you would see a difference. The biggest difference in the two is when you don't hit the center. The GI irons are much better suited for someone who may have a few mishits so the results are not as bad.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Aaah, the trusty launch monitor. It's really all you need to make a well informed decision!

A blade or player's cavity will usually launch lower because it's designed for players who get a ballooning ball flight with gi irons. A blade is also less forgiving and more workable, so it's the right club for good ball strikers and those who shape the ball a lot. Player's irons also have shafts (Project X or Dynamic Golds) which are designed to hit the ball lower.

yes but you could always put a high launch shaft if you wanted to
