Help me fill my bag!

Hi guys

 

I currently have 13 clubs which I am pretty happy with.  I hit the ball a pretty good way so not sure if that will help factor into your decision on which club I should put in my bag last.  

 

Right now I have...

 

Driver

3wood

4Hybrid

4I - 9I

Pitching Wedge

Gap Wedge(52)

Sand Wedge

Putter

 

Should I add another wedge (maybe an Approach wedge?) Or go with a 3I or 3H.. I have never needed one though so I'm thinking throwing another wedge in my bag might be good... Do you guys use your 60* if you do have them in your bag?

If you intend to add a wedge, I would suggest going for a 58 / 60. I'm not sure what your SW is in terms of loft, but a 60 degree (I game a 58 and it's very similar) is very versatile and a great addition as it gives you a lot more options around the greens. You need to practice a lot with it as it is a club that requires good technique and feel. Many struggle with it, but if you can take advantage of the club, it's a great weapon.

Otherwise, how big is the gap between your 3 wood and 4H?

Look to see how big the gap is in between each of your clubs and see if you can fill any large spaces 25+ yards.  This is a good place to start.

You bring up a good point, I have heard some people struggle with a 60 while others are down right deadly with it.  My SW is a standard 56.  My 3wood isn't a great club for my consistency wise but around 240 ish.  My 4H is 210 to 220 (4I 200-210) .  The distance gap is pretty standard though within about 25 yards of each other so nothing I can't handle.  I'm pretty interested in the 60 wedge.

You should get rid of the 4 hybrid and have a 3 hybrid you have a 4 iron and a 4 hybrid with a huge gap between your 3 wood and your 4 hybrid or iron you should go driver 3 wood 3 hybrid 4-9 and then get your gap sand and 60 the 60 is great to have around the green and from 60 yards and in to get spin and nice soft flop shots. I love my 60 a lot of people don't think that club should be in the bag but I believe its useful.

I'll agree with the 4i/4h thing.  Drop either of the 2 and go with a 3h or 3i, then add a lob wedge.

 

This is exactly what I have....the 4i, 3h, 3w and a lob wedge.
