RIFE PUTTER - Removing paint - Any ideas?

I have a Guerin Rife IBF Aussie Tour Edition putter in black.

It is 303 Stainless.

I bought it becuase I like black putters, but anyone who owns one would know that the black finish is not at all durable.

Every one I have seen has lots of paint missing.

It gets worn from taking the headcover off and putting it back on.

The Odyssey Balck Tour Designs putters (thankfully) do not have this problem.

Does anyone know of a way of removing the paint so that I am left with the silver finish?

I'm guessing that if it happens by itself, there must be an easy way of doing it deliberately!

Obviously, I'd like it to be black, but the scratches drive me nuts.

I've never personally done any paint removal or fill, but it sounds like there are several ways to safely remove paint.

I just removed the black finish from my Rife IBF blade putter.  I used the strongest paint stripper i could find at Home Depot.  I coated the putter head with the paint stripper gel...let it sit for about 30 minutes then i used super fine steel wool to remove the black finish with the stripper gel still on it.  Work pretty good and left with a stainless steel look.  Make sure you use gloves and protective eye wear when using the paint strip material.

I then paintfill the sight line and letterings.

I had the same issue and I followed the instructions to use paint reomver gell and steel wool and it worked perfectly !!!

Used toothpicks to remove the paint from the lettering and club face.

Its looks great ....
