I was under the impression grip size was to do with the soze of your hands only, however ive been reading it can also affect the shape of your shots? I play mid soze but have recently been playing a driver with a normal grip.  Also the choise of grips in normal size is much better.  If it helps at all i always ware a hole in my glove onthe part where to top of the shaft touches the glove although i do have some shaft poking out of the top of my grip.

I don't buy it for a second. Use the grip size and profile that fits you best, and you'll be happy. For me it's a midsize cord, I find the standard size to require extra pressure to hold.

The claim that it affects shot shape isn't worth considering. It might affect how you take your grip, forcing you to go stronger or weaker to feel comfortable. You'll get the best results and the most control and comfort from the grip size you like best. You can always add extra wraps of tape if you need a certain grip.
