Ok so got back into the game last year.  Been buying up sets of clubs off the bay when I see something that I always wanted to try but never had the cash.  Mostly clubs from when I stopped playing so pre 2K.  An example of stuff I have owned and still own are Titelist, Ping, Hogan, Wilson, Founders Club, Callaway, Taylor made, and oh yea Lynx Black Cats.

So here is my take on these sticks.  The easiest by far to hit accurately with good distance and a nice boring flight are the Taylor Made Fire Soles.  I own 2 sets, one in steel and the other graphite. Had the steel bent down 2 deg and have to say  with a decent swing put on them the 6-3 irons have a very good boring flight while the short irons tend to be longish but hit nice and high.

Next are Callaways, the Big Bertha's I had were very long.  The thing I didn't like about them was the look at address and they weren't real workable but they were L-O-N-G.  Next up are the X16's.  I still have these in the Memphis 10 shaft.  Bent 2 deg down and although not as long as the BB's they are a bit workable and very predictable for my swing.

Next up are the Lynx tour forged cavity back in the reg. flex Lynx graphite shafts.  Matter of fact I like these about as much as I like the TM's.  Very easy to hit sticks but very very workable.  Gorgeous looking too.  Channel backs, tour forged, graphite reg. flex shafts.  The only thing I would change is the top line, if they were thinner I would play nothing else.

As for the other's, Titelist, Wilson, Founders Club etc etc. all decent, especially the FC's.  Totally under rated clubs.  One thing I'll say about the Titelist's I own, 981's and the DCI os+ is that when you mishit them the feedback is instant and hurtful.

As for drivers and woods I am sold on the Cleveland DST at 9 deg's., and the Titelist 907 D2 at 10.5 deg both stiff shafts.  Fairway woods you can't beat the original Orlimar tri metal's with the EI70 shafts in reg flex.  Ok that's it for now and thanks for reading

PS  as for the 2 drivers I have to say this, the Cleveland is very very long about 15 yds avg distance more than my Titelist.  BUT the Titelist is more accurate by about 10 yds as to be on line in the fairway

Ok I might have been fibbing here with the TM Firesoles.  Reason I say this I have 3 sets of Hogans.  Apex graphite shafted GCD's, Apex steel #3 Edge, and just bought a set of Edge GCD's, in the Apex 3 shafts at a garage sale the other day.  So anyways the garage sale set I bought were in nice cond., useable grips and all I had to do is clean them up  and I buffed up the bottoms with a little hand held belt grinder.  For 30 bucks for a full set how can you go wrong 3-sw.

So anyways these just happen to have a flat lie which is what I need.  So go to my favorite little muni yesterday cause I know in the middle of the p.m. no one is going to be there or at least not a lot of folks.  Played the front cause it is short and you have to alot of iron shots.  So take the garage sale sticks to check them out.  Used the 5-sw.  After I had 2 holes under my belt and I put my sweater on cause on the lake shore it was windy and COLD.  I gotta tell ya these things hit very well and are consistent from club to club.  Not as high a ball flight as the TM's.  More boring for sure.  Here is an example:  3rd hole is a 295 par 3 over a small creek to a very crowned green.  Poke a driver down there and am about 80 yds out.  When I say poke that is exactly what I mean too just a poke.  Landed on flat ground but behind some very mature trees about 40 yds in front of me and the trees are probably 80 ft tall.  Big.  Open up very slightly the wedge and swing a way.  Over the trees on to the green.  So stoked I did it I 3 putted.  Didn't even care, that was a great shot and the ball stuck too as you would think it should.  Next really decent shot was on 5.  Stroked a good drive but again the green is small and about 3 stores down hill.  Maybe a bit more.  So I'm 150 out behind some very very tall trees about 60 yds in front of me.  Grab an 8 iron carry it over the trees and straight over the pin to the fringe on the back side.  Two putted etc.etc.

Go to the range today with the same sticks and I gotta tell ya just a very very nice boring ball flight.  I ain't sayin I hit every single shot great but the majority were decent and the thing is, is that I was getting a decent roll afterwards.  So there ya go.  We'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks with them.  thanks
