I just picked up a Wilson Staff KC4 today. I had never heard of it, but I was hitting putters for about an hour in a shop today, and the guy recommended this one. It hit about as good as the odyssey tri-ball for me, it works well. I am looking forward to trying it on the green tomorrow.

Does anyone else have one?

The question i really have is that I really like the putter but is it worth the 119 i paid?

It is also ugly as sin, but I like how it hits.

Never heard of wilson staff kc4. It looks a lot like the Ping g5i craz-e. I've tried the g5i craz-e in the store and it seemed to have the greatest moment of inertia of all the new fangled designs out there.

when it comes to putters, i'm a bit of a brand snob though.

Ping or Odyssey have come up with 99% of the putter designs out there. Odyssey is the first brand to successfully implement the insert. And Scotty Cameron took forged craftmanship and material to the next level. I like giving credit where credit is due, so I tend to stick with these 3 brands.

Personally, I'm loyal to the 2 best club head shapes in history, the anser and anser 2.

I love my Scotty Cameron Pro Plat Newport, which is the cameron version of the ping anser. It has the gooseneck, toe-heel weighting and setup of the anser, but has the craftsmanship and feel of the cameron putters.

If I buy a putter, it's either going to be a ping anser or anser 2, or a cameron newport or newport 2.

That being said, it's what feels best to you. If you feel great putting with a 3 wood, then do it. Putting is one of the few elements in golf where you can throw fundamentals out the window. One of the best putters in history, billy casper, only used his wrists when he swung the putter. Try teaching that. So if your wilson feels good to you, then keep it.

i tend to be a brand snob too. I really liked the balanced feel. I just don't want to be the person who they just got some dead weight off the shelf with.

i edited my reply some, so may want to reread it.

It looks a lot like the ping g5i craz-e. i've tried that ping, and it has possibly the greatest MOI of any putter i've played around with at the golf shop.

I'm still loyal to the classic anser/newport design though. But if it is anything like the g5i craz-e, then you probably have a good one in your bag now.

I played it today and I was quite happy with the performance.

I'll probably snag a scotty cameron eventually too. I actually like switching up my putter usage between blades and mallets, keeps me sharp, and I think that different tools are good for different greens.

    • This is pretty much how I look at it.  I understand there are times when the piece of mind has value. I think over the long haul I'm money ahead by never buying the extended warrantee. Hell, What do I know? I went to Ch!cago PubIic SchooIs.

    • On my car I got the extended power train warranty. I do read the fine print most of the time. Though at now 37, my eyes aren’t what they were 10 years ago.    The problem with most of these extended warranties on electronics and appliances is you don’t register the warranty with the place you buy the warranty from, which I’ve always found strange. Unless it’s GameStop then you know Alina drops her Switch in the next two years and the screen cracks they’ll replace it. No questions asked.    You buy a slow cooker at Walmart for $50 and the extended warranty is say $6, you have to go through a third party to register your product for the warranty, and it’s pretty damn annoying. Target is the same way. Anything you buy the extended protection on you have to go through a third party.    Why do retailers go through a “broker” for warranties? Because they don’t wanna deal with it? They make me talk to someone from another country, that I can barely understand, when I need my warranty fulfilled.   Sorry for the rant.
    • You may be able to find a regular flex Blueboard on the second hand market. I’m little more than half your age so I swing a shaft that launches pretty low so I don’t have a lot of experience with Regular flex (other than when I try to hit it I miss way to the left).    There are other shafts, such as the newer Ping Alta that I’ve heard good things about. And one that no one talks about. The Jupiter shaft. You can get this shaft for a $100 with a grip and your Ping adapter installed. I was talking to the golf manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods here and he has one in his driver and has nothing but good things to say about it. I thought about getting one for my Paradym Triple Diamond to play it a little shorter, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
