I got into golf about six months ago well for the second time. I have a setof 96 big bertha irons. The biggest thing I notice with them is that there isn't a huge change in distance after my 7i unless I make an effort to really get it out there. I went to accademy to test a few irons out and got some interesting results for the launch moniter like my 9i going over 150 and my 4i over 200 neitherhave done at the range but maybe a hand full of times. So I don't know how much stock I put it that lol. I usually play bogey golf give or take 3 or 4 strokes depending on the day. I can't decide if I should wait till next season to see if my game improves or if I should buy something for mid handicappers or something like the rocketbladez tour. Just wanted some advice.

I would say combine your playing this summer with some golf lessons. A distance fall-off after 7i indicates possible swing flaws. Lessons would be money better spent than getting new irons right away.

The Big Berthas are an excellent club for beginners - the clubhead and high-launch shaft get the ball up and flying.

And yes, be cautious of one launch-monitor session. Some monitors are more accurate than others. Beware of distance inflation!

If you get your swing stabilized with lessons, then you can switch irons over the winter. In the meantime, you can always test out different irons at demo days to see what you might like for the future.

Focus, connect and follow through!
