I recently had my clubs stolen so I had to grab new gear. After careful consideration I decided on a set of Mizuno MP 52 irons (I can't buy brand new due to financial restrictions at the moment). The combination of forgiveness, feel and workability sold me on them. I found them on-line in great condition for only $100!!! They arrived via fed-ex today and I'm itching to get to the range. I know I didn't get to test drive them but I owned Mizuno MP 68's before this happened and they were amazing.

Does anyone have any feedback on the MP 52's? If so, I'd like to hear it. Cheers.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Please explain. :-)

Yes Shorty, I wanted something a little more forgiving on mis-hits. I loved my MP 68's but mis-hits were punished fairly harsh. I am a solid ball striker but I came to the conclusion that blades do make a difficult game just that much more difficult. So you were correct in that department even though I could hit them decent; it's the harshness of the mis-hits that I wanted to eliminate. So, cheers and I apologize for any malicious comments that I made in the past.

I just got back from testing out my 8 iron in a hydro field by my house and man what a sweet club. If the whole set is anything like the 8 iron then I'm going to be in Mizzy heaven. I'm looking forward to the pocket cavity/dual muscle in the mid/long irons as well. They came with Dynamic Gold SL S300 shafts as well. I'm going to the range tomorrow so I'll let you guys know how my day goes.

Certainly an easier club to hit than the 68s!

It seems that way with just the 8 iron alone. My first shot was slightly heeled and it was still a good shot with a beautiful trajectory and distance. Obviously I'll know more tomorrow but they're are designed with more forgiveness in mind.

Well, I have to say that the MP 52's are incredible. Very forgiving, beautiful trajectory and no loss in distance compared to my previous game improvement irons. The sweet spot is that perfect "Mizuno Feel" that all Mizuno players talk about and pured shots put a huge smile on your face.

Much more forgiving than MP 68's so I think I'll stick with these babies. The mi to long irons have the dual muscle, pocket groove technology which helps with launch, making them easy to hit and get in the air for a player's iron. The short irons are incredibly solid and the dispersion is very tight. I couldn't be more happy; I was knocking down targets like crazy today.

There's something about a Mizuno MP iron or even a player's iron that makes you WANT to put a good swing on the ba

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
