Yesterday, playing hole 7, I had a 200 yd carry over water to a green with a bunker on the left and more water on the right. Was playing well so far that day and took out the 5 wood. A little extra club to 5 wood, a little extra club to make sure I could carry the water. Swung about 85%, hit it perfectly, but sliced it into the water. Made bogey, but it was worth the try. I could live with a bogey, but it would have made my day if I made eagle. GO FOR IT

What tees and yardage do you play from? I try to play from the second to back tees, (My course has 5 sets of tees), but I know some of my friends who try to play the championship tees but it is just too overwhelming. The second to back tees are about 6900, and the championship tees are about 7200. We play at Quail Hollow Country Club,(Charlotte,NC) where the PGA Tour's Wells Fargo Championship takes place. Would yo rather challenge yourself more by playing from where the pros play? or playing your style?

Do you listen to music while playing golf? Either on the range or course. Plead your case. Personally, I do not because I feel it would be inconsiderate to other golfers.

thanks for the info. I'm currently a sophomore in high school. who regularly shoots around even par. I am playing in some summer tournaments but is kin of curious how I would get some attention. Do I send a letter to colleges? Do they come talk to me? etc.

Any of you guys play or have played college golf? Where? What did it take to get there? Your handicap? Tournaments you played in?

Started when I was about 4. My Dad would take me out to the putting green in the evenings after work (like 6- 6:30). Then later, I remember hitting 7 irons in my backyard when I was about 4 1/2. I was addicted to the game ever since, and am getting some looks from colleges which is a lot of fun.

Would you rather have a 15 foot putt to win the Masters (a miss is an automatic loss)? Or have your opponent have a 25 for putt to win the Masters and beat you?

Shot a 74 yesterday. (Par 72), 2 birdies, 4 bogeys Our team was #2 in the state and in the match yesterday beat the #1 team. So know we are #1 in Va. Had a lot of missed putts from 15-20 ft. That could have helped my score a lot. But I hit the majority of the fairways which is always a good thing; and kept the ball in play all day.
