I didn't think you were building them, I was curious what specs they would need... sorry for the confusion. Do you have any experience with the ST-i irons? Also the M-Series+ Wedges looked intriguing.

Sorry, the dry response came off serious online.  I should know better by now.

Specs:  how long (compared to standard) do you play your clubs?  I have mine written down somewhere, I think I play quarter inch under standard length.  You'd also want lie angle (although standard isn't the end of the world) and flex of the shaft (which can be approximated by how far you hit your 7-iron, but that's a very rough approximation).  If you have a nonstandard size grip, that'd be relevant too.

Driver:  Titleist 915D2.  4-wood:  Titleist 917F2.  Titleist TS2 19 degree hybrid.  Another hybrid in here too.  Irons 5-U, Ping G400.  Wedges negotiable (currently 54 degree Cleveland, 58 degree Titleist) Edel putter.

I do have a Gigagolf PowerMax GX922 7 iron that I like. I just got the 7 iron to test out their product several years ago. The problem is that I got it built to specs that I no longer think work for me which is a big reason I want to get some lessons this time around. What clubs do you have from Gigagolf? Is there a reason you're considering going with Maltby instead of GG this time around?

The GG irons are fine. I am satisfied with them for now. But I am just interested in the Maltby offerings also. I have the TRX Powerslot irons.

    • Nothing is assured and lots of talented young athletes in many sports fail to achieve greatness. as was said, injuries, growth, lots of things can come into play, And let’s let honest, over the years a few players have been branded “The Next Tiger Woods” and yet there is only 1 Tiger Woods. My initial point was if he can do a great breakout it may capture the attention of a new generation.  Back in the 70s it was Secretariat in horse racing, we also had Jordan in basketball and let’s not forget Tiger for golf.  Stories get people interested and I think golf needs a new story. I will pull for him and hope it works out but there are so many factors that come into play you just do not know, But I can hope.
    • Day 114: 4/19/24 Chipping and putting practice. Tried a little hinge and hold with good results, which has never been the case during a real round. Playing tomorrow and eager to play.
    • I don't think I've found any of the Good Good stuff, or the guys that were once a part of it, very interesting.
    • Day 535, April 19, 2024 30 minutes in the middle of the day while doing errands and a bunch of other things. Behind. Behind.
    • Day 127 (19 Apr 24)  -  Played in the Friday Men's group today.  While I shoot 82, it was a pretty solid round with 10 pars, 5 bogies and 3 doubles.  I really hated the doubles - but each one was followed by a par come back, so "accepting" the number has really begun to pay off and not letting it get to me on the following hole in thinking "I have to get that stroke back".
