Wedges

I'd like to replace my 56 and 60 wedges with a 58, so I can add a 5 wood.
What would be a good bounce for the 58 so I can use it from the sand and as a lob wedge.

Conventional wisdom goes: it depends.

If your home bunkers are filled with soft sand, you want more bounce and/or a wider sole. If your home playground finds you on lots of tight lies and/or hard packed sand, a wedge with less bounce is more beneficial.

You should ask the pro where you play most what he would recommend.

maybe I'm wrong, but most of us play a variety of courses... maybe we should have a few wedge options, but most of us don't... so unless you play the same course every week, I would get something that is sort of in the middle... not real high bounce, not real low... medium width sole.

If you do play the same course...do what Sherpat said.

i've 58 with 8 degrees bounce - good out of bunkers when i need it (not my bunker club unless necessart). Opens up easily around the greens. Distance shots are handy. It's ideal for what I want - but it's a personal choice. Try out some of your friends/2nd hand ones to see what would suit you.
