5 wood or 2 Hybrid?

Good afternoon guys and gals,

If you have 1 more spot in your bag to fill in, would you choose 5 wood or 2 hybrid? Assuming you already have Driver, 3 wood, 3-PW, SW and LW.
Note: I have no problem hitting my 3 iron. I just want to fill my bag

I am in the same boat as you sorta. I have one slot open and don't know if I should do a 2 hybrid or another wedge.

I also thought about either a Gap Wedge or 64 degree extreme lobe wedge as well.

, but for the practical purpose, I narrow it down to either 5 wood or 2 hybrid. I figure my SW and LW pretty much cover within 100 yards.

2 hybrid for accuracy, unless the 5 wood helps you on long par 4s or 5s (doesn't make a difference for me).

Probably good idea to have both and swap out based on the course.

My preference is the 2H. Personally, they're easier to hit, it's easier to look at address and are somewhat more workable than a FW. I'm not sacrificing any distance, about 235 yards, and the landing is generally very soft.

I prefer the 2 hybrid over the 5 wood. I have never been a 5 wood fan, but Tiger is known to swap his 2 iron for one every now and then.

I am a fan of the 2 hybrid. I can vary the trajectory with it much more. For me the 5 wood that I previously owned (Titleist 904F 19* w/ YS-7), I had a tendency to balloon the ball and often couldn't keep it down no matter how hard I tried. If you suffer from a low trajectory, the 5 wood might be a good option. The 2 hybrid will most likely be a little bit shorter, thus a little bit easier to control. Pay attention to the shaft that you purchase on a 2 hybrid, because hybrid shafts differ much more among hybrids (60g-110g) as compared to fairway woods (55g-90g). However, I didn't notice a serious difference in the quality of the contact between the two clubs.

Overall, the hybrid is a little better in the control and trajectory manipulation. Good for poor lies as well.

Well based on popular verdict, 2 hybrid it is. Now the actual fun begins. I might pick up a 2 hybrid during my lunch hour.
