i have short arms and i've heard of these surgeryies people having to be made taller (lengthening the legs) and i was wondering how this would work with helping my golf swing by lengthening my arms. any ideas?

I have short arms as well, though with the woods they are a disadvantage, but with my wedges there perfect. I was playing on golf simulator, last Saturday, so long story short I was playing pebble beach, and I hit the ball on the beach, so I was 135 away from the pin and the pin was 28 yards up hill, so i choose to hit a 60 degree as hard could to lay-up. But what was pretty remarkable the ball landed 15 feet pass the pin, I ended up hitting the ball 140 which is really long with a lob from the condition I was in. So I think short arms helps with power and control with the wedges, and a good short game is better then a good long game.

It's all in the hips... all in the hips...

I would never go under the knife unless I absolutely had to. I have had to for breaking my leg in a rugby game and now I have nerve damage there. It is not worth the risk!!! Don't do it!!! You were made like you were for a reason, don't change you for anything or anyone unless you are not happy with yourself. You play to the same handicap as me right now and I am 6'1 .. 210 pounds and can nearly drag my knuckles on the ground when walking.

Not to mention surgery, even if done without any negative side effect, will at minimum hold you back from playing anything while you heal. Not worth it man.
