On a golf course when they put the distance to the hole. I was just wondering what part of the green are they calculating those distances?

Thanks

Depends on the course. Either center or front of green. It should state which on the scorecard in the local rules.

It's different for every course.

I played a course last week - the mens card was in yards. The ladies in metres. The distance markers in metres but were round numbers in yards (e.g. 137 metres - - 150 yards!)

There is also a course in Ireland with a 125 yard long green - so it's worth checking if there is pin placement info about!!! Distance to the front could leave you 100 yards short

I could be mistaken but don't think any GPS service is aware of the daily pin locations.

I always thought they configure the GPS on carts by the pin location schedule?

You could be right because those systems are run by the golf course. I was thinking more about SkyCaddy and those type systems.
