New to this so here goes!

I'm a University Lecturer trying to a) teach recalcitrant 18-21 year olds biochemistry and b) do research.

Used to play a huge amount and now I'm too old for anything too physical I'm going back to golf - about time as well .

I am a police officer in a city south of Boston, 6 years so far. I work the midnight shift to give myself more time for golfing, although it doesn’t always work out as planned haha.

Nothing in particular. I retired in Feb of 2008. I'm into RC aircraft and now starting to get into golf at the request of my son. I'll need a lot of quidance and I hope to get it here.

I am a purchasing agent for a large independant tire company. I buy custom wheels and accessories and provide appplication information to our store employees. I guide people to the proper tires and wheels for their cars, trucks, trailers, tractors, fork lifts, hand trucks, etc. Not a bad gig if you like cars.

I work as a commercial real estate appraisal firm. My office has 12 guys, half are golfers as this kind of work provides for alot of time flexability.

I'm still in school finishing my aerospace engineering major with a minor in commercial aviation. I just started playing golf this summer, and I'm already addicted!

      It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…

      I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
