I'm thinking about ordering a new set of the Callaway X-Forged irons and wedges. I've hit them a lot in the store and think that I have decided on them over the Mizuno MP-60s. I'm going to order them with the RP Project x Flighted 6.0 shafts. Any have thoughts on this decision?

Thanks,

Yes yes yes. Ive hit them many times and they are addicting as golf clubs get. I dont have a solid reason to drop my titliests and spend a grand on a new set which is why they are not in my bag at this momment. And i dont care what reviews you read, they are just as forgiving as game improvement irons.

The only con to them I see is that they appear to be clubs that will wear very very fast. They are almost too soft.

i have these irons with those exact shafts. go to a local callaway performance center and get them fit. best $150 you can spend. I've played ping, mizuno, Hogan, and a few others. these x-forged are the best looking and performing irons i've had to date. the mizuno's were a close second, but too difficult to hit.

I have played blades for 30 years and I am no Callaway fan but the X-Forged are the best looking/performing players iron I've hit! Nothing comes close.

agreed. these are exceptional clubs. they are forgiving for a blade but dont expect much. overrall a great club. downside is they do wear a bit, so make sure to keep them nice and clean and out of harms way

It's unbelievable what these companies produce. All the years I played baseball I never obsessed over equipment like I do, now.

I wonder if they'll ever release these.

I purchased my X-Forged last September 15th. By the end of October I had shaved 6 shots of my index. I was told that they would harder to hit than my old Rac IIs but found the weighting of the shaft gaving much better feel throughout the swing resulting in better contact.

i saw these in person at the callaway hq in carlsbad. they look damn nice, but i don't think i could hit them. the head is tiny. looks like a true blade. they will make them in limited quantities and will cost a buttload.

I actually got to swing it, but didn't hit balls :(

thanks for the recommendation! i was fit recently by the callaway team at my local roger dunn during a big demo they had where rocco mediate showed up. it was pretty cool!

awesome rec. thanks for the feedback. hopng to order my set next week!

did you end up buying these? how do you like them

I ordered them a few weeks ago and I took delivery of them last week. I've played with them once so far, and I'm giving them a solid A for the frst time out with NO range time. They feel solid and straight! The lack of offset is going to take a little getting used to, but I am very pleased so far.

sounds good man. enjoy. i can't stand off-set so the x-forged look sweet to me.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
