does anyone think the golf swing and the slapshot in hockey have similarities?

can anything from the slap shot be compared to the golf swing constructivly?

PS. Mike Weir to win the masters

This is how I was taught to hit my 3 wood off the ground. My dad told me to imagine it as if I was taking a slapshot and flowing right through the ball. With almost the exact same backswing and follow through As I would in hockey.

To answer your question. I think it does have its similarities.

I guess i didnt really clarify,

I was wondering if there can be any tips on technique (ie, shifting your weight, or where your clubface is...etc ) that can be applied to both and that may be done better in the slap shot

I know when i play hockey I can transfer my weight on a slap shot way better than when i hit a golf ball

I can shoot as hard as anyone on the ice, but i can not hit the ball as far as anyone, and i think i am capable of getting more distance

Both hockey and baseball have similar mechanics. (to a golf swing)

Head down, shoulder turn, clearing of the hips, swinging down and through, nice high finish. In all three cases, you don't ever want to open up too soon or pull off the ball/puck.

There are some hockey players who have become great golfers: Lemiux and Quinn.

Baseball: Rick Rhoden. Yes, I know he was a pitcher but he was a very good hitting pitcher.

I guess i didnt really clarify,

Where are your hands when you are making contact with a golf ball? Behind it?

Where is your finish? Do you finish your swing at your chest/shoulders?

I really dont know where my hands are when i hit the golf ball, ive never thought about it

I have a full follow through (with the driver say), I will bring the club all the way through, (club parallel with the ground on the follow through, maybe even past parallel)

One more thing I can add, I will usually play a cut.

I try to hit it straight most times, but my miss is ALWAYS a cut/slice
