Which is the best day to watch a PGA Tour practice round?

I'm going to be in southern California duringthe US Open and I'm thinking about taking my 8 year old son to watch a practice round. Have any of you ever been to a PGA Tour event? If so, which would be the best day to go watch a practice round?

Are there any other tips you would give to someone going to watch their first event?

I would say Tuesday...you can get very close to the competitiors..because theres not a lot of people at the practice rounds--but a US Open--yes there will be a lot of people regardless of whether its tuesday or sunday..but i would say tuesday because a lot of guys skip wednesdays practice round at the us open..

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."
