The topline looked better on the I10 to me...just a little slimmer. The I10 felt a little softer especially on the less than flush shots. I had immidiate(sp) confidence with the I10's, not so much with the AP1's.

Im pulling the trigger on the Pings.

On another note I hit the Gq0 driver and the thing felt like the shaft was two miles long.

Im thinking of cutting a 1/2" of my Cobra to see what happens. My driver is the only club I walk up to the ball with doubts. When I hit it good, it is really good and can straight out bomb it, but I can really FUBAR it at times and it doesnt matter how far you hit it if you cant find it. Funny I will order my irons probably 1/2" over and I will cut down my driver atthe same time!

Having played Ping for 17 years I normally think you've probably made a wise choice. And what isn't wise as long as you can hit it and feel confident with them in your hands. But today I hit the AP1s and was just floored. Flushed and straight almost every time. And I liked the feel alot. I need to hit more for comparison but I'm already biased and ready to jump the Ping ship. What shafts were in the clubs you hit??

I still need to hit them outside. Anybody from Austin know if the Golfsmith on I35 will let you take clubs to the outdoor range?

Thanks! Can I pull whatever I want off the rack and get it taped up?

No... but they have a huge bin of 6 Irons, with all length shafts and flexes..

Keep this in mind you are possibly going to spend $1k on clubs...if they don't let you hit outside take your business elsewhere. Hard Drive also has Ping not sure on prices, but they have a really nice fitting area. Doppler stuff, etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you are trying the i10 wouldn't the AP2 be the better comparison?

I thought the clubs kinda broke down like this. G10/r7/X-20/AP1/S9 i10/r7T/X-20T/AP2/Fp

They are and now I am back thinking I want the G10's. I just cant find anything that shows me the smaller club head and minimal workability of the I10 is worth a little more forgiveness of the G10.

if you think the shaft is to long get a red dot shaft which is about 44.5 inches long.

    • Day 206 3-11 Focused on wider backswing and reconnecting arm in downswing. Wasn't really happy with how swing was looking today. Wider backswing is very different for me. Went back to do a some longer pauses at the top. Hit a few foam balls.
    • This is an awesome breakdown. most of the bigger tournaments usually have one wave with the advantage, Thank you for the breakdown. If it is soft then it will be a lower final score
    • Over the past 15 years, the winning score has ranged from -10 to -20. Mostly around -13.  Here is Thursday and Friday weather. Saturday and Sunday weather. I think the course will play soft. Plenty of sky cover, lots of rain on Thursday. Fairways and greens will probably stay soft throughout the week.  In terms of tee times, I think Thursday morning and Friday afternoon have the biggest advantage. • Things that I am or have worked on... 1.    Trail Elbow - Check 2.    Hip Turn - Check 3.    Rolled Inside - Check 4.    Wide Takeaway - Check 5.    Sway and Tilt - Nope, but I did a hip turn and tilt 🤣 I am giving myself 4.5/5 for my long backswing.  Great post!
    • We have a very difficult but mostly showy course this week. Lets see what they got. This course offers so many chances to get into trouble it is really a mental minefield. I am excited to see who can handle it and who cant. Last year we got a foreshadowing of JJ and Rory, I am excited for this year Who do people have winning? what will the winning score be? I am thinking 12 or 13 under
