A small plate on the bottom of my FT-3 has come off. I can't find it to replace it. Do you think it will effect the weighting of the club?

Is it a littly flimsy plastic peice? about a 1/4" thick?

Hmm. I doubt it will effect the weighting of the club if it is just a little plastic chevron, but you can probably contact Callaway about getting that part sent to you or having them fix it for you. How long have you had the club? It may be under some sort of warranty. But based on my past relations with them, they will be more than happy to help you out (whether its a question or having something fixed, or having them fix it for you). Shoot them an email and see what they have to say.

Yeah, that's it.

I think you'll be okay. That being said, the sound might change, and I think you should take it to a Callaway representative and see if they will repair it. It's older, but they might be able to fix it. Glue it back on, whatever.

Thanks for the input. I sent the company an email. We'll see what they say.

Sad to say but I've had no response from Callaway.

Take it to your local golf shop, they will send it back and get ya a new one. I have sent a ton of broken, cracked faces back and get new clubs back no questions, I don't even pay shipping.

There's no way they're going to send me a new one at this age. I guess I got it over a year ago. I can't imagine getting a new one.

Even if none of this works, that little peice will do no harm at all. Like Iacas said you may have a different sound to it, but there is nothing major, unless it effects something I wouldnt worry about it. Unless your concerned about the look of it now.

You'd be surprised, if not, I'm sure they'll refinish it up for you and fix the chevron. Shortly after I bought my Fusion irons, I sent them an email asking why they scratched so easy (it was my first set of shiny irons to ever own) and they offered to refinish them free of charge including shipping (something that would have cost over $200 normally). I never let them do it, but I did email them one time asking if I could purchase a set of fusion wood covers to match my bag (at that time I didn't have a fusion fairway wood or driver) and mentioned that I would be willing to pay for them-- they gave them to me for free. They surely do know how to take care of their customers and I have continued to purchase their products as a result.

Do any of you know what kind of turnaround time I could expect in sending them my club?? I'd hate to be without it for a month or more.

Trust me, send it back you will get a new one in a week. I have sent many many clubs back, even a Ping G2 they dont even make 4 years old, got back a new one. Callaway is the best you will get a brand new Ft-3.

Update.....Called Callaway. Talked to a rep who said they would send me a mailing label (which I got via email) to send the club back to be repaired. He then asked me all the specs to the club so I'm thinking they are not going to repair it but rather send me a new one if they have one like it (which is likely). Gotta find a box quick!! Frankly, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they sent me one with a different bias and a tour model at that!

    • Day 22 - 2026-01-11 More mirror work. Back outdoors tomorrow.
    • Day 11, 1/11/26.  Today was putting, along about 6' of carpet, with coins on the ground to keep me cognizant of what I'm doing.  I think this is the at-home drill from LSW. (Ugh, missed two of the last four days -- 1/10 and 1/8)
    • Day 9: 2026.01.11 Hit some balls at the range, concentrating on weight distribution at address, got some on film.
    • Day 468 - 2026-01-11 Loooooong day. Did some work in the patio door (as a mirror) when I got home.
    • I caught a video on this driver; the face tech seems crazy. Looking at the heat map for ball speed, hitting it basically anywhere on the face only loses a few percent ball speed. The surprising and counter intuitive part to me was that for flat faced clubs, ball speed loss is directly proportional to distance loss. For clubs with bulge and roll this is apparently not true. The surprising part of that story being that the max distance potential looks to be a tiny pee sized area for this driver, and I feel in general for drivers. The counter intuitive part being (the myth?) that blade irons have a pee sized sweet spot and missing that tiny spot causes dramatic losses. And that modern drivers, maybe 2017 on, have massive sweet spots and are ultra forgiving. Where in reality, if this heat map data is valid and reliable, it might be a bit of the opposite. This insane tech driver appears to have a pea sized "sweet spot" while Mizuno Pro 241 irons are 28% more forgiving compared to the average of all clubs measured. Not compared to other players irons, compared to all clubs from all categories, players to SGI! The Pro 241 being essentially just a solid chunk of metal with no "tech" at all. Which for me devolves into a whole mess of what is forgiveness really? And in measurable and quantifiable results how many yards, or feet, does that translate into?
