How many of you guys keep and update a golf journal? I am thinking of buying one and just want to know what other peoples opinions on them? Also, what golf journal is the best one to get?

I never saw the point in having one. I put a swing note on my scorecards from time to time (software), but that's about it. A journal seems like overkill. And if it's not software (i.e. if it's pen and paper), it's gonna be tough to search.

I started one and I included: Notes, How i thought i played, my best shot of the day, my score, my playing partner, my longest putt. It was when i was in like Grade 8 so like 3 years ago. It was really pointless.

So i got a handicap tracker, wayy better.

My wife bought me one. It's the size of an index card, 3X5 and contains the following:

Header Information
Course
Name of Player
Date
Weather
Handicap
Slope
Green Fees

The middle:

Hole
Greens in Regulation
Fairways
Putts
+/-
Par
Score

The bottom:

Eagles
Pars
Doubles
Birdies
Bogeys
Lies

It's very easy to track.
