So Tiger gets whooped again, yet Jim Furyk, grunting in pain every time he swings, manages to halve a match with Fred Funk.

There go my predictions .

Thanks! :)

I am looking good so far, with DiMarco getting a point and Tiger losing a point. I will say this, however. Tiger looked very into this event, and he seemed to be supporting his team better than he ever has. I liked what I saw of him today, and I think he may get it together tomorrow in the four-ball matches. And besides, Freddie didn't play well at all. And by the way, I still don't see how people say this event should be scrapped. The golf today was awesome. The spirits were all high, and the intensity was very good for a first day. I know the Ryder Cup is awesome, but the Presidents Cup is very good as well. And I like Goosen, Scott, Els, etc. So I guess that's another reason I enjoy the event. If Els was playing this year, the International team would be nearly unstoppable. Great action today, and I'm definitely looking forward to watching the rest of the week unfold. Edit: I have one last thing to add while I'm on a roll. How awesome of a pairing was Verplank and Leonard? I have to give it to Jack on this one. When I saw those two paired together, I knew it would be a win for the US. They are two of my favorites, and my favorite team on the US side. It will be interesting to see who will win between them and Immelman/Weir tomorrow in the four-ball. I don't think Verplank and Leonard will lose..

I hope Jack pairs Love and Freddy on Saturday. Both are 0-2 and stinkin it up. It wasn't that long ago that they dominated team play. Recently it seems like Love is always in a funk when its Ryder Cup/Presidents Cup time.

I was wondering the same thing myself.

I am still loving Verplank/Leonard. I don't see them being split all week. Great stuff on the second day of action. I love the Presidents Cup.

11-11. Tiger's got some wins this time, and a gritty halve against Singh and Appleby in today's morning action. Won the last two holes to tie.

It was an awesome event all four days! I was very happy to see DiMarco make the deciding putt. What a great event!

I'll be talking a lot more about the Presidents Cup and its place in golf in this week's Thrash Talk as well. I have a lot to say on the subject.

Yeah, it would have been, but how dumb is Phil for not paying attention. Jack even told him on the 15th hole there are no ties.

Kind of a dumb rule not to have halves, but I kinda liked it, too. I kinda wish they had played that way in every match.

I thought the same thing. After the putt dropped and he was walking around thinking he halved the match and then he looked dumbfounded when he found out he had another hole. I did get a good laugh though.

Since I'm a huge Vijay fan, it's hard for me to root for the Americans instead of him during his matches but all in all Saturday and Sunday was some of the best golf I have watched. Sunday my family came over when the Americans were winning almost all of the matches. We went out to eat and I Tivoed the rest thinking the Americans were going to blow the Internationals out but was shocked to see the end was so close. I was on the edge of my seat. Great stuff.

    • Swing check. Cons: The countertop drill hasn't taken yet. Not crazy about A5 to A6 hand path. Pros: Decent BS width at A2 and right elbow at A4. All in all, not terrible but meh..
    • Day 74 (14 Jul 25) - Late afternoon session w/9i, magnetic alignment stick, Divot board and hard foam balls.  Worked on getting the face square at setup and then returning to same through the swing.  The lines on the Divot Board served as referenced parallels for the alignment stick.  Did hit a few balls about 30 total - half with using the alighment stick on the club face and half without.  First time working with the magnetic alignment rod - really reveals when you have the face closed/open/etc.
    • I mean, that is what I figure would be the case.  My mind is just trying to wrap around the idea that 22" left = feet aiming like 15 yards left visually. It's like in a CADD system, if the flag is the base point when you scale an image, it stays in the same spot as you get closer (scale up) or get further away (scale down).  I can image how if you have a 10-yard chip, it could look much more like your feet are aimed nearly 22" left of the flag.  Now I want to try to make some measurements and quantify this 🤣.  Yes, they do. Yea, that is true.
    • Closer to like 22" than 36. Why wouldn't the target line (ball) be at the target (flag) with your feet parallel left of that? Perception messes with a lot of people. Almost all righties tend to aim to the right, because what feels parallel left — particularly given that your eyes are "between" the ball and your feet — feel like they're pointed MILES left even when they're square. Also, there's no rule that you have to be parallel left of the target line. I like to be slightly open at setup.
    • Depends on the lie, pin location, green.  I would say most of my pitches are with my 60-degree.  Its probably like 90% 60-degree, 10% 56 degree.
