Has anyone here ever used a website to get clubs to demo? I'm considering it (not many demoing options around this area) after finding a website that does this (golfclubdemo.com). Was just curious to see if anyone here has tried it and if they would recommend this?

I think I'm going to try a few different clubs and then get fitted and order whichever ones I like the best.

not worth the money, imo. many large chains, like pga tour superstore, have playability policies. you can return anything within 30 days for full refund in store credit, or some have a 90 day 90% policy. i suggest do that if you know youre going to buy clubs.

Ok, cool! Wasn't aware of any of this. First time buying new clubs. Thanks!!

Our golf store lets you try some demo clubs you are interested in on the course, they offer free shipping to your house and it costs $35 for the week, so you can play as many rounds as you want with them within a week. Local only though.

Our local golf store closed recently. Closest thing that we have is Dicks Sporting Goods (to my knowledge).

The website you refer to doesn't even exists anymore it seems...

    • I’m sure this has been discussed before, maybe an update would be good? I think alot of the current announcers are really good.  The guys at Golf Channel, great.  I thought that Paul Azinger was good too, he brought his tour experience and insights, and he’d get that growl in his voice when something big was happening.  Is he still announcing for NBC?  Also - for me it’s good when announcers are not afraid to broach controversial subjects, best if they can do it without coming across as hateful. The Smiley desk at the 17th at the Players, that was great.  I definitely like the comedic and/or gritty announcers. On the other side, a few of the old timers would sometimes rub me the wrong way.  The few that I recall were Steve Melnyk and Gary Koch.  Perhaps most of the time they were fine, but all it takes is that one derisive comment to really stick in the memory.
    • I blame Bryan Rust.  Thanks for putting the work in, John. I’ll look into hotels and stuff soon. I’ll probably be driving in Friday.

    • I recommend this. The stadium is great. You can walk across the bridge to some good food.
    • My recommendation for anyone traveling from out of town would be to stay in/near Cranberry.  There is a retail stretch of hotels very close to the course. It is about 50 minutes from Reserve Run.  I'm not going to be very involved in the hotel selection and such, since I live in the city (about 20 minutes south of Cranberry). One thing to note - Friday night (6/20) is a Pirates home game and fireworks night.  For those who are into baseball...while you can't necessarily call what the Pirates play these days "baseball", it is consistently rated one of the best stadiums in MLB and the fireworks nights are pretty spectacular.
