Who have you heard is/ was the biggest jerk on the tour? What have you heard about them that made you think so?

Many people believe that Rory Sabattini is the biggest jerk on tour, due to his behaviour inside and outside of the ropes.

I'd have to definatly agree.

On TV Rory seems to be a front runner, but he seems like a good guy in some articles I've read.

Great thing about PGA golf, we hardly ever read about a pro "making it rain" at a "skrip" club then busting some caps, or trying to run over the wife with a hummer, or covering up for the "boys" in a shooting, etc, etc, etc....

When he was in Australia recently, he gave all of his prize money to Legacy. an organisation that cares for widows and families of deceased war veterans. And a lot more money as well. He sought no publicity for this and unlike so many, didn't do it "spontaneously" when a camera just happened to be there a la PM.

Not the behaviour of a jerk in my book.

Well............don't be a tease. What have you heard? If you're going to assassinate a person's character at least give us a chance to know why you're doing it!

I personally observed Justin Leonard being a crude rude jerk during a practice round at the 1996 U.S. Open. There weren't a lot of people around and I'm not sure he knew anyone was listening or watching. Anyhow, a lot of time has gone by so maybe he's matured since then. I'd like to think so because he carries himself well on the course and is a great player.

Seems to be an easy target, doesn't he? At least he's got a bit of personality.

Speaking of which, I rememebr years back - can't remember what year it was, but Duval was close to Tiger with a round tp play in the Masters and he said something like "with a few holes to go I'll stare into his (Tiger's) eyes and see if there's anything behind them" in a really arrogant and macho way. Needless to say, he found a bit of water and was never the same again. I might be wrong, but I sense that Sabatini's having a bit of a lend of us when he makes some of his bold claims, and I believe he was taken out of context when he made his comments about Tiger last year. Irony isn't a term a lot of commenattors understand. I suppose you could say that Woody Austin is a jerk because he is a cheat and a liar. This opinion is based on what everyone clearly saw last year in relation to a six inch putt.

(Sabatin)

If you arev referring to the Target Challenge, he assumed he wasn't getting paid after withdrawing and when he was, gave that money to charity too.

(Sabatin)

I don't care what he assumed... it was a dickish move to pull out of a small field event like that simply because he was playing like

and wanted to go home for the holiday.

excuse me??? Patrick Roy beating his wife and tearing apart the house in Colorado? Danny Heatley driving at 160 km/h through residential streets and killing Dan Snyder (his Thrashers teammate)? Mark Bell being caught and arrested for drunk driving? Rob Ramage (former Canadiens player) killing someone while driving drunk? Ed Belfour arrested for fighting with a cop in Miami? Ryan O'Byrne being arrested for stealing a woman's purse in Tampa?

Pro sports are not immune to criminals, hockey is no exception.

What I was implying is that you don't see them shooting at eachother. Sure you can always find an exception, but last I checked there wasn't a bunch of "gang-bangers" playing hockey, and there ARE some in basketball and football. As far as domestic violence and DUI's (sometimes coupled with death/injury) go, they don't rise to the same level of criminal behavior as shooting at people. Obviously none of this behavior is a good thing, but generally speaking I think there are less problems in the world of hockey than in basketball and football, just my opinion.

Truth be told I don't remember the exact details. I am, and always have been a big Couples fan, so I'd rather not spread any rumors because I like the guy. And again being that I've only heard this as hearsay. I was merely responding to the topic to get the discussion going.

a bit dated but.....Hale Irwin

Have heard from two different sources who have played with him at pro-ams that he did not say a word to his pro-am partners all day. Including the breakfast before the round!

a bit dated but.....Hale Irwin

I hear often that the consistent winners are not the greatest guys to have a pro-am round with - Nick Faldo being an outstanding example, when he was in his prime. Sandy Lyle apparently told someone who was playing with him for the first time to 'bring your Walkman', as he wouldn't get a word out of him. Not sure that makes him (or Irwin) a jerk - they both seemed to behave pretty well in general.

A word on David Duval.

Some say that when he was winning and number 1 in the world that he was not a nice character..wrap around sunglasses, not talking to others, aggressive, obnoxious- these are traits of the best players in the world.

Since then he has mellowed with maturity although hs golf has taken a big slide. I like Duval for his mercury.

    • The hype with the LAB Putters is something ive kept a keen eye on but i havent actually tried one... yet!! I use a SeeMore PCB and have done for around 8 years now and it was a gamechanger for me. It was the first time i had been fitted for a putter and from then ive totally bought into the fact that the technology in the putters makes a massive difference The only issue i have with LAB was that i did quiz them on Instagram what the difference between my PCB and a LAB Putter would be as the PCB from what i can find is just as balanced as the LAB Putters, however LAB couldnt tell me what the difference was and just said they didnt beleive in SeeMore Technology, but i wanted to know 'Why'!!  So yeah, the tech im sure works and think if anyone hasnt gamed a putter like LAB or SeeMore where custom fitting is crucial, then you gotta give it a go!
    • Day 335 - More putting work, with the focus on setup and hitting the sweet spot.
    • Day 153: putted for a while using the 2 cups drill inside. Working on bead primarily. Contact was really good.
    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
