First round in the books using an arm lock putter. Tiny sample size, but still very encouraging, felt I got the ball on line much better than I have been. Only had one 3-putt, but it was on a 60 foot putt, so not really the putters fault; ran my first putt by 8 feet and lipped out the come backer. Made a couple 15-20 footers, but the big improvement was on the putts 6 ft and in, I only missed one of them. Thats huge.

Shot 70 (-2) was certainly nice to get under par again.

Is there anyone out there who has any experience with the armlock putting style? How did you like it. Pros and Cons? I'm considering going that direction.

I've never been a great putter, I've always relied on my length and ball striking to overcome my putting woes, but my putting has recently really started to be a glaring problem. My putting stats continue to get worse and worse with each round I play. Short putts are my main issue, I am really struggling from 3-6 feet with a make percentage well below 25% in my last 6 rounds.

I've tried claw, left hand low, heck I even tried a broomstick putter...right now I couldn't make a 4 footer if my life depended on it.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have an arm lock putter, but adopted that style of putting. I hold the grip tightly against by right arm and put from the shoulders. Like you I have never been a great putter, but it has certainly helped

    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
    • It is a known technique, similar to the armed forces box technique. They use a 4x4 , in through the nose and out through the mouth. I use it to go to sleep fairly often. It works for me
