Going to buy one for a present for a 15 handicap.

The HALO SEEMS TO GET GREAT REVIEWS AND IS A GREAT PRICE.

I have the 2i, 3i and 4i in the Halo and really like them. Once you learn to hit them they
are straight and high. I had a problem hooking them when I first got them.

I do not even have a fairway wood in the bag anymore. Just hit the hybrids.

I haven't hit the Hi-Bore hybrids (I own a Hi-Bore driver), but I own 22degree and 16 degree Halo hybrids and absolutely love them. The Halo series seems to have less offset than the majority of the newer hybrids which have started to lean more towards draw-biased, including the newest Cleveland hybrids. I also believe the rolled leading edge of the club really helps in certain lies, along with the simple contoured sole (which if I recall correctly is what Jesse Ortiz always talks up in his Bobby Jones hybrid commercials, other than the lightweight maraging steel or whatever.) Either way, the Halo hybrids have worked well for me.

This is the 16degree 1i hybrid, I went with a stiff graphite shaft for this club as I was looking for it to be more of a fairway wood replacement. Both clubs have a good look at address. (to me.)

The 22degree has a steel shaft, again because I was more looking to replace 3 iron. I feel as if I can use my same long iron swing with this club, seeing as the steel shafts are a little shorter than the graphites. Whereas with the 16 I swing a little more like a fairway wood (slightly flatter plane, etc.)

And a pic of the faces to give you a feel for the height and width.

Overall the clubs have really filled into my bag nicely, hitting the 22 around 210yds and the 16 goes 230 off the deck, slightly further when teeing off. Hope this helps you a little.

Thank you so much altony.

That is excellent.

I think I will go for a halo as I can get it new for £40 which is about $80 new.

you cant go wrong with the Halo, I havea 2 & 4i and love them, they are great off the tee on short tight par 4's and also fly high and land soft... i am lacking a bit of control though i think the reg shaft is a bit too whippy for me can anyone suggest a good after market shaft, steel or graphite.

    • Day 106: did a stack session.
    • Day 292 - Filmed some swings focusing on the same thing (setup, grip, wrist at the top).
    • Day 182 (31 Oct 24) - Shorter session today.  Worked with the 5i - setup, alignment and overall tempo - hitting into the net.
    • Thanks! It actually briefly dropped to 5.8 at some point in July, but it felt like it was too rich for my blood every moment of the whole two weeks I held the 'level' for me to sustain it. The term 'impostor syndrome' comes to mind.. :-)) I have certainly done better than I have in the previous years to stay the course in how and what I have practiced but yes, it's a high probability that I'm leaving a lot on the table.
    • Dang... in the realm of things that probably don't matter all that much, golf slumps are the worst. Yes definitely consult a pro ASAP. Get back to hitting it solid again. Hitting the sweet spot solves a lot of problems. For me it's always the latter. My confidence grows as I hit more and more solid shots, which are the result of continuing to improve my swing thru better concepts, better practice, etc.  Yea, this for sure. And also, without a professional there to let you know you "did it better this time" it can be unnecessarily frustrating and confounding working alone. It's not that you can't work alone; clearly, you can. But during rough patches, it's always smart to consult professionals. Lessons are an amazing place to take new concepts and turn them into feels that you are confident will work. It's still really cool you consider this your best ever season. Congrats on hitting 7.8 this year!
