Is Driver head closed?

Hello,

I'm a decent golfer who is just starting to play the game on a regular basis again after probably 5 years of not playing much.

I have a Nike SQ driver that, for the most part, I really like. However, I have noticed lately that it seems to have a naturally closed clubface when I address the ball. Is it possible my driver has this feature or am I dreaming?

Incidentally, I have a tendancy to hook or pull the ball when I miss it. My coach has pointed out a slight over the top feature in my swing, so it could very well just be my lack of talent.

It's not your imagination. Most drivers that are sold in stores are usually either closed a degree and visa versa.

The only drivers I've seen set to 0 are ones that have been assembled. You can your driver to any golf store and have them make the adjustment. Should not charge you more than $5-$10.

YES! Having a closed clubface is a gimmick which can really cause problems. It's an easy sell because the idea is that you won't hit a slice with it, but this is nonsense.

I got my 905R because it is square, much easier to work the ball.

Most retail drivers have a closed face angle.

If you want one that is neutral or even open, look for the "tour" versions of the drivers. Some club makers don't charge extra for their "tour" versions and some do.
