Ok, I am getting my whole set regripped, from Driver to LW.
I am thinking of getting cords, mainly because I prefer the feel and they are generally a harder type grip.
I am thinking about one of these:
- Golf pride MultiCompound
- Golf pride Full Cord
- Lamkin Full cord.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with these, or any other grips.
Thanks

I have just put multi compounds on my whole set, after having having golf pride cords on ,the multi feel a little thinner, but ill get used to that, they feel nice and tacky, but i really liked the full cords, the only trouble i have is getting grips with ribs in them, which i much prefer.you have no idea how hard it is to get ribbed grips

I put a bid on some golf pride Tour wrap cords, as they looked very good.
I am just wondering, when you regrip, do you use methylated spirits to put inside the grip and on the grip tape, and is it just the stickiness of the tape that holds the grips straight and solid.

I've always preferred Multicompound to Full chord in the GP stakes - having upgraded from Tour Velvet to MC in the past. The full chord used to rip my hands to pieces! When I upgrade next from the stock Ping shafts, I may go with some MC's as they feel very good (and look good too!)

Yeah, but I wear a glove on the hand that gets ripped up so this generally doesn't happen.
Does anyone have any experience with the Tour Wrap Cords by Golf pride?

I recently put thr Multicompounds on all of my father-in-law's clubs. I can tell you that I will be using these for my self next time I grip my own. They're a really nice blend of tackiness and firmness. Seem to be durable too - at least more than Tour Velvet or Winn G8.

I use mineral spirits, but they sell something called grip tape solvent at golfsmith, etc. that is not flammable. You can also buy water activated grip tape and use water or another more neutral chemical. It's supposed to be much cleaner to use.

Whatever solvent you use, make sure you put enough on the tape and be sure to get the entire inside of the grip coated. If you try to put it on too dry, the grip can become stuck when you slide it on. The glue on the tape breaks down and lubricates the grip when you coat it with the solvent. What really holds it on the club is mostly just friction...the inside diameter of the grip is a bit smaller than the outside diameter of the shaft.

Last year I did the same thing....I went with Winn X17 grips. They were the grips that I liked best. The •••••••• store had many if not all the ones you mentioned. For me, I did not like the look and feel of those.

Cheers,
Eric

full cord golf pride tour velvets are good. I like straight velvets though. .580 core on a .600 shaft butt + 2 tape wraps. DO IT! extra tape is the best.

Yeah I was definetly thinking of thickening it up a bit as my tour velvets are way to small and thin.

    • With scratch being a highly sought after goal, what are the realistic chances of reaching said goal after age, 30, 40, 50, etc...?
    • LIV made a big mistake scheduling an event this week. A lot of the top LIV players are eligible to play on the DP World Tour and they could have been playing at the Scottish Open this week with the top players on the PGA Tour. It would have been a good chance for exposure outside of the Majors. Nobody watches LIV golf.
    • The equipment rules say a club is an implement designed for striking a golf ball, and consists of a clubhead and shaft, possibly  a grip.  If it doesn't fit that definition, it's something else, perhaps a training device.  But a 50 inch driver is still a club, non conforming.  A club with stickers on the face is non conforming, but counts as a club, and me made conforming by removing the stickers.
    • Had some time to review Moe's swing. I suppose I am trying that style yeah, at least with driving. I also feel like I am placing the grip more in the palm of my right hand than closer to the fingers. Not sure how to measure hip rotation.
