Opinions on the Big Bertha golf ball???

I had a gift card for a large department store and wanted to use it today as I was in the vicinity.

Loaded up on a few bags of tees and wanted to use the rest on some more balls. Selection wasn't great. I decided to give the Callaway Big Berthas a try.

What have been your experiences with these???

It's going to be next week before I can play again and find out myself.

Finally had a chance to play a round of golf this morning.

It was hotter than hades!!!!


I used the Big Bertha ball and my buddy playing with me used a HX Hot. We played to some of the same spots on the course and only had to look for the red or orange Callaway graphics to tell the balls apart.

Overall the ball did well. I thought it played pretty decent. It was suprisingly softer than I anticipated. It putted well.

It checked on the greens okay....no brakes...but a predicatble pattern/distance.

Very durable ball, too.

Lost one ball on the 3rd hole, par 4, with a carry over a pond on my t-shot. The other two balls in the sleeve were used alternating holes for the remainder of the round. Wiped 'em down good afterwards and they looked fine.

I'd play them again.

My partner was extremely pleased with the HX Hot ball today. He had a great round and many positve comments on the ball.

I'd buy either again.

you won't get great compression on the ball....but during the winter/colder months...they go a long way...but for summer play, I like a nice soft ball that you can compress the sh** out off and watch it FLY
