I'm not trying to be cocky or anything, but I just picked up a set of titleist zm forged blades. I'm hitting 9/10 shots almost dead straight. Its pleasantly surprising. When i had my callaway x forged I'd usually miss shots with hooks or balloon fades. These irons had the project x. My new titleist has the s300 dg's.

I'm wondering if the shafts made that much of a difference??

Anyways, I'm strictly a blade guy now.

That seems to be a shaft problem, not a club head problem.

But I wonder, is there a difference in length between the clubs?

I definitely like the feel of the MB and blades compared to an iron such as the RAC OS which I was playing for about a year. You do have more control and it's more responsive if you want a knockdown shot or shape it left to right. I don't think I'd be very good with complete blades. Maybe in two years or something when I hope to be a scratch play (dream big right?) I'll go to complete blades. I couldn't be more happy so far with my MP-57's.

As for the shaft I have the True Temper Dynamic Gold R300...I really like the shaft a lot. I get a low-mid ball flight and I like that compared to how I was ballooning my RAC OS.

I doubt it.

The OP hasn't answered my question, but I think he was probably playing some fairly weak Project X shafts. Maybe 5.0 or something. That'd lead to the shots he was describing.

I doubt it. :

i was actually playing 6.0 but they were cut down by 1/2 inch. the callaway rep told me that cutting the shafts down on the proj. x won't make them any stiffer. I also thought i'd have more control with a slightly shorter shaft since im only about 5 9. Well i choke up w/ the stock s300 in my blades and the ball goes surprisingly straight. I did hit 1 or 2 shots thin and you immediately get the feedback you deserve with a sharp zing up your arms. lol

      Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.

      As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
